Here's a short intro to the three scholars who will be attending the Seerah Conference on the 8th November (4.20pm) at Selywn Road Mosque (E13 0PY) (see masjid.tv/seerah_8nov.jpg for details)
Shaykh Abdur Raheem Limbada is one of the gems of England. A master of Quranic exegesis and the Arabic language, he initially studied at Darul Uloom Bury (UK), where he is now the senior lecturer of Imam Muslim's collection of ahadith. After graduating he pursued studies at Mazahir al Uloom, Saharanpur (India) under the tutorship of the great illuminary Muhaddith Yunus Jaunpuri. He specialises in tafseer, particularly in the work of Imaam Baydawi. In tasawwuf he has authorization in the Chisti order. His students include Shaykh Riyad ul Haq, Shaykh ibn Adam al Kawthari, and Shaykh Ahmed Ali.
Mufti Abdur Rahman ibn Yusuf Mangera is an exceptional academic and author. After memorizing the Quran he graduated from Darul Uloom Bury and then Madrasah Zakariyyah in South Africa. He also completed a Bachelor or Arts in Islamic Studies at Rand Afrikaans University, and then traveled to Syria where he received a second certification in memorizing the quran and aspects of aqidah and fiqh. He then enrolled at Mazahir al Uloom, Saharanpur (India) where he received authorization to issue fatawa. Shaykh Abdur Rahman has also attained certifications in hadith from great illuminaries like Muhaddith Habib al-Rahman al-Azami, Shaykh Abul-Hasan Ali Nadwi, and Shaykh Muhammad al-Awwama. He has authored a number of books including the popular "Fiqh al-Imam", and translated classical cannons such as Imam Abu Hanifa's "Al-Fiqh al-Akbar" with commentry. He presently serves as Imam of a masjid in North London.
Shaykh Rafiq Sufi is a dynamic orator. After memorizing the quran he graduated from Darul Uloom Bury and also gained certification in various styles of recitation. He then founded the Muslim Welfare Institute which is at the forefront of educational, relief, and welfare projects in Albania. He is currently a lecturer of fiqh and Imam Muslim's collection of ahadith at Darul Uloom Blackburn (UK).
