But I never once said Deen is difficult. Stop putting words in my mouth (who you been in the company of hey?) Check again and you'll see I said difficult to "live as a Muslim" and "Holding onto Deen" but Deen itself is easy and there are those that make it impossible "Akhee"

The pig is just a trial for us.

We need to live a clean life, beginning to end but in between there are test that we need to hurdle over. Not everything in life will be straight forward.

If there is a way forward for success, then there is a way backwards for failures.

Take maths, we all want to add up our profit, but there's always the opposite, to subtract. So if need be we would also subtract from our profit. Also if we want to multiply our profit, we will also need to go backwards and divide it.

There's a way forward and backwards, we need to take the right one but try and bypass what will take us backwards.

I hope I'm making sense.

Cant believe it, bought pair of shoes today from clarkes, yes lol thats not the most unbelievable thing that happened. As i was putting them on the shoe rack i noticed a pair of my sons school shoes that he's stopped wearing. I asked why he stopped wearing them and if they didnt fit him anymore, he said he didnt like them, as we were having this discussion i noticed the inside of the shoes and they were pig skin, i was more suprised that i recognised the pig skin it didnt even need a close examination as it was noticeable from a distance. If it wasnt for this thread i wouldn't have noticed..

Anyway i start examining all the shoes on the rack and find another 3 pairs of shoes with either inner lining and soles made of pigskin. It would never have occured to me that i would ever have such material in my household. I imediately checked my new pair of shoes to my relief they were not pig skin. But next time i'll definitly be more vigilant and aware of pig skin in any shoes or bags i might buy in the future.

Yes and the shoes with pigskin were all disposed of. Jazakallah to all who contributed to this thread. If it wasnt for your contribution we would still be walking around with pig skin on our feet.

My sons joke was:
A person walks the dog
But now a person walks the pig.
I wasnt amused what carelessness on my part. Not only as a person but also as a responsible parent.

I wouldn't say its getting difficult, Allah has made our deen so easy, it is us who make it hard upon ourselves.

What if Allah didn't give a unique sign to recognise the type of skin?. Our complain of difficulty would be valid.

Islam is not just a religion, it is a complete system of living. The perfect Deen, Alhumdulillah.

Remembered this particular post when I recognized the pig skin. It was very easy to identify. Masha.Allah, without a doubt allah truly has made our Deen easy to follow.

A little update

NOT ALL PIG LEATHER HAVE 3 DOTS ON THEM, THEY CAN BE MORE OR LESS.

I was having a little discussion with a very respectful brother once, who insisted that a pair of particular shoes DID NOT have 3 dots as indicated before, therfore, he decided and concluded that the shoe was NOT og Pig Leather. Allahu Alum, my last word on it was to ask a leather expert. This particular shoe had 4-5 dots on them.

So as you can see, its not always 3 dots. All Pig skin is marked with some kind of dots/spots.

May Allah protect us from this filth.

Many of our Muslim brothers like to play Snooker or Pool. (We have a Muslim Community Centre that houses many snooker Tables:)

Well check this.

It called "Tiger" Pig Leather Wrap, it is Shaved in 22-25 thousands, these wraps are one of the most consistent in the Pool & Billiard Industry.
Each leather wrap is 13.5" long
