Wa alaikumus salaam warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh

اللهمَّ بارك لك و بارك عليك و جمع بينكما في خيرٍ

May Allah bless you and shower blessings upon you, and unite the two of you in goodness. Aameen !

What makes a marriage work is the effort and sacrifice of the individuals in it.

And Allah knows best.

There are many lectures and much advice available on the topic of marriage and correct behaviour of spouses towards one another. One of my favourites is Maulana Ahmad Ali: Ingredients for a successful marriage

(If anyone knows where to find this lecture online, please do post the link.)

Also, an essential handbook for all married couples is 'Ashraf's Blessings of Marriage'

Alhamdulillah, the knowledge and advice available to us is excellent, ... if only we act upon it and suppress our own whims and fancies in favour of haq and hikmah as prescribed by our beloved Prophet.

Fee amaanillah

Wassalaam

Asalaam walikum,

Mashallah all the books and audio that i would have recommended has already been mentioned, i have to say that the lecture by sheikh ahmed ali was truly insprational and recommend you to listen to it a few times, because everytime i listen to it, i always manage to pick a few more things from it...also the book on ashrafs blessings of marriage is a really good one for both husband and wife to read, i recommend both husband and wife listen to the lecture together too, you may purchase both items from azhar academy

www.azharacademy.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1341 http://www.azharacademy.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=72

i would also recommend you read salah tahajjud and salah hajjat both these duas can be found in key to the treasures of jannah found also on azhar academy:

http://www.azharacademy.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1691

this book is amazing it explains what you should read and how. It has translations too, it also has other duas etc its truly amazing for everyday use...also i would like to recommend you pray ya wajeedu as many times as you can - preferebly 1000 i think it is, again this can be found in the same book, and blow into water or food and both husband and wife should partake from there and inshallah allah will increase the love between them.

In the mean time i make dua that whatever your dua is allah grants it And that both husband and wife become stronger together with imaan.(ameen) As well as asking people to make dua, you should yourself make dua, one thing i read was if someone asks you to remember them in your duas how many times will you remember them? therefore make dua for yourself first, but im sure inshallah you are also doing that.

Always remember: Dua is a weapon to a believer. May allah bless your marriage inshallah, Allah knows best. If i have said anything wrong please do forgive me. Wasalaam
