Found this on vegetarian.org.uk :-

bristle - animal hair used for brushes, mostly from pigs but also from *sable, horse and badger. The hair may be from a slaughtered or living animal. Found in many 'natural' brushes eg shaving/hair/cosmetic make-up/paint (decorating, painting and artist) brushes.

IF anyone do anymore research/tehkeek behind this pIease post here. (i didnt know pigs had that Iong hair to make Iong bristaIs on brushes??)

thats kind of explains one thing: i like to phone up 'colgate-palmolive' for a list of their products alcohol free and suitable for vegetarians and they include a list of suitable tooth brushes.

ive never consulted them for an explanation, but will do inshaAllah.
