Walaikum Salaam

Jazak'Allah Khair for your help, the thing is it appears as channels on mine like numbers between 1-66...

Masjid-e-Umer (Walthamstow) is 64

Stamford Hill Masjid is 2

Noor-ul-Islam is 14

I'll just have to figure it out when bayaans are taking place, Insha'Allah by conferring with someone who is listening to bayaan at same time, Insha'Allah.

assalamualykum,

some of the mosques have a transmitter, so if you have a receiver at home you can tune in and u'll be able to hear their adhaan, salah, talks etc.

its similar to a radio..you need to have the correct frequency to listen to whatever station you want (i.e 87.8 will give you ramadhan radio.) same principal for receiver.

Sr.Muslimah Ukht - There must be a way to tune into those frequencies and store them under a unique number.. no?

Hmmm, i inspected my reciever very well and i found only channels (1-66), we got it right at the start when they were being given out... Thus i think that's why i can't find anything on reciever using frequencies usually given by the masaajid.

Jazak'Allah Khair.

okay, mine has volume and squelch... thereafter buttons for 'mem', 'scan', 'ch led' thereafter there is a channel display and ths channel up and down switch... which lets you go from channel 1-66... I wonder if that helps?

It's a 66 Channel UHF Reciever (SCANAP)

hope that helps...

I know that there are other masjids that can be heard via the reciever, i'll just have to figure out which is which, Insha'Allah.

I think the channel and frequency varies from area to area as the frequency you gave for eastham masjid is the same as my local masjid.

Anyways Jazak'Allah Khair for all your help, i just wanted to figure it out before Ramadhan starts, seems i will have to sit by reciever and just hope the Maulana/Imaam mentions the name of the masjid...

Is your model of receiver like a small walkie talkie?

I have one similar, it has only a vol, channel up/down and power button with 99 channels. The channels are preset (unchangeable) to pick up various frequencies over a range. In your case its 454.0125 to 454.825 MHz.

hope that helps

I was just messing about on a spreadsheet and I think this is how the channel receiver works for you. As you go up each channel it increases the frequency by 0.0125. Test the theory out and let us know if it works. So all the channels/ frequencies are:

Channel Frequency Masjid
