Shah Ismail Shaheed (RA) was a Scholar & Mujahid of known stature and pedigree from the Indian Subcontinent.  While travelling in Jihad he (RA) wrote a letter responding to queries of some people which he never got a chance to edit or proof read as Allah (SWT) blessed him with Shahada.

Taqwiyatul-Imaan remains the most read book, published and dramatic (life changing) in Urdu along side Tableeghi Nisaab.

A classic on Tawheed and refutation of Bid'ah

I have not come across a Deobandi edited/annotated the book in Urdu or English so most up to date/organised copies are either published by Ahl-e-Hadeeth or Salafees. Most Deobandi prints remain in the form of the letter which was originally written (without paragraphs and chapter headings) and are difficult to follow. If someone is aware of a good Deobandi print in Urdu or English please bring it to my attention.

Having issues uploading picture of book from mobile, will update later, InshaAllah.

Was pleased to find this book 'AAP BEETI', still in process of reading it. Over the years heard many ulama relaying extracts from this autobiography, and have mentioned this book with great reverence.

Found it life changing, WHY? Because it gave an insight on how hadhrat zakariya khandelwi r.a. strived from such a young age to understand Deen and uniquely understood it with much wisdom. His upbringing, sacrifices, understanding, and love for knowledge, which moulded him into the personality he became is simply magnificent and leaves the reader wanting to read more and more. Creates great value and appreciation of the work of respected and authentic ulama in the heart. MashaAllah!

May Allah preserve and safeguard his work, truly inspirational.

Following extracted from book info:
AAP Beti
An autobiography by Shaykh al-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariya Khandelwi.

After other scholars wrote biographies about him during his own lifetime, he set about writing his own saying that that which should have been mentioned in it has been left out and that which should have been left out was written.'

It gives great insight into his initial studies at Mazahir Ulum Saharanpur, his writings, other scholars, tasawwuf. A very interesting and informative read about one of the greatest scholars of the twentieth century.

Translated in South Africa.

I havn't read it but found the discussion here:

Mufti Husain Kadodia (HA) of Sunniforum advised to better stay away from this book as it's not even possible that the Imam it is ascribed to has authored it'

Response to him:

With all due respect, perhaps Hazrat Mufti Saheb Mufti has not read the book in its entirety or he is being misquoted. Mufti Muhammad Ali of Darul Uloom Zakariyya himself wrote the forward for the book and Moulana Shabeer Saloojee the principal of Darul Uloom Zakariyya himself was the encouragement for the book.

Imam Waqidi did not authour the book, rather he compiled it! Read this book and your life will change, such is the effect f it has on ones Iman. If you want to know and experience the Iman of the Sahabah then you should read this book. You will feel as though you are present there watching and listening to the events take place before your very eyes.

Hazratji Moulana Maseehullah Rahmatullah Alayhi used to recommend this book and have it read out in his majaalis. We have put so much effort into translating and preparing this this great work and alhamdullillah many people all over the world have benefitted greatly from it. This book is truly inspirational and left me in tears almost every time I worked on it. It is the most inspirational and beneficial book I have ever read. Many others have said the same, via email and directly. I would encourage every single muslim to read it. Believe me, you will not be able to put it down.

Mufti Hussain Kadodia (HA) of Sunniforum is an expert of manuscripts in the Western world as recognised by the worst of his enemies so I trust his research knowing his caliber, knowledge and research on the subject of Authenticity.

People can read the book as per the advice of other Ulamah ofcourse, Insha'Allah

'Tazkaratul Auliya - The Memories Of Saints' by Shaikh Fariduddin Attar (rahmatullahi alaih)

Except in some places here and there, the book is brilliant! But not recommended for people who have absolutely no idea of tasawwuf or aren't connected to Scholars.

The incidents make you cry...makes your heart melt in love for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, and its been read so many times over and over again by us.

I wish this book was translated by any of our scholars as this is presently translated by a Hindu under the orders of a Hindu yogi (woman yogi).

Islam and The World by Ml Ali Nadwi [rh] was his magnum opus - the book won several awards.

Many pages have been dedicated to how the book was written in Ml Nadwi's biography by AKC.

Tazkiraatul Auliya lead me to 'The Conference of the Birds' by Shaikh F Attar again, but I didn't read it, because by reading the reviews online, I found it hard to digest somewhat, has anyone read it?
