وعن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما في قصة بريرة وزوجها. قال: قال لها النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: "لو راجعته؟" قالت: يا رسول الله تأمرني؟ قال : "إنما أشفع" قالت: لا حاجة لي فيه. ((رواه البخاري))
Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah bepleased with them), reported in connection with the case of Barirah (May Allah bepleased with her) and her husband:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said to her, "It is better for you to go back to your husband." She asked: "O Messenger of Allah, do you order me to do so." He replied, "I only intercede" She then said: "I have no need for him".

Lesson:
- Barirah (RA) was a recently emancipated slave girl. During her enslavement, she had been married to Mughith (RA), who remained deeply in love with her. Following her emancipation, she was given the choice to either remain in the marriage or seek separation, and she chose separation.
- Mughith (RA) was deeply distressed by her decision, and his heartbreak eventually became known to Rasul-ullah
. Rasul-ullah interceded with Barirah (RA), asking her to reconsider her decision.
- Barirah (RA) respectfully asked Rasul-ullah whether his request was an instruction or merely a personal intercession. Upon learning that it was not an instruction, she chose to maintain her original decision regarding her personal life.
