Netanyahu already stated several years ago, in an interview with American TV, that the biggest threat to Israel, after Iran was Pakistan. And that they could not risk a radical Muslim leadership coming to power and being in charge of Nuclear weapons. He was advocating for action to dismantle Pakistans Nuclear arsenal.

What Asim Munir is, has already been summed up best by Imran Khan. A "zehni mareez". He is psychopathic levels of mentally sick. Also, yes, it will serve their purpose of having blackmail material for future as well. With the kind of crimes that the military has committed in Pakistan, there is no way that Asim Munir can disobey the West now. One step out of line and they will bring forth proofs of his misadventures to make him comply. So yes, if the US allows a nuclear strike, it would make for good leverage to control the Pakistani government and military. Infact, come to think of it they might even make it an excuse to force Pakistan to surrender their nukes in the future, which is something that Israel has been wanting them to do for ages.

So it's a win-win for the US if they allow nuclear strikes on Afghanistan. They'll get all they want and more without getting their own hands dirty.
