Imam Jamil Al Amin, has passed away in prison, at the age of 82, he spent 25 years incarcerated, majority of it close too two decades in solitary confinement. For a crime he did not commit, he was convicted of shooting and killing a police officer.
Despite the real killer Otis Jackson confessing to the crime on multiple occasions, the Federal Authorities refused to revisit the case or release him.
In the 1960's he was a leader of the Blacks civil rights movement,
Known at the time as H Rap Brown, and a fiery speaker.
Was highly respected amongst the Black American community. Was an author, activist and Imam.
He had remained on the radar of the FBI since the 1960's until they stitched up a false case against him.
May ALLAH forgive him for his shortcomings, shower his mercy upon him and grant him Al Firdaus Ameen.
Here is a talk about him by Shaykh Omar Suleiman
Earlier this year. Only 15 minutes.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
