A Muslim's mind should always be directed towards Allah. Whether in a tragedy or times of joy. We should stop looking towards the asbaab of dunya.

What we need to ponder over is, that even if the US or some other country has the technology to effect earthquakes, that does not mean that technology has been created outside the realm of Allah's Power. The US can will all it wants the earthquake won't happen until Allah allows it. That is what the meaning of Allah's Will is. So the question is why would Allah allow the earthquake to happen upon the Muslims? Was it a warning to correct our affairs before the time is up? Was it a blessing? Because those who died in it will inshaAllah now probably be redeemed on the Day Of Judgement without having to do much in terms of amaal.
Or was it a punishment intended for some transgressors? But we know from hadith that any disaster that befalls the transgressors will affect the obedient ones as well, however, they will be separated from each other on the Day of Judgement.

Several killed in Israeli raids on Syria’s Damascus: State media
Syrian media say Israel fired missiles on Damascus’s Kafr Sousa neighbourhood, killing five and wounding 15.

At least five people have been killed, 15 wounded and several residential buildings damaged in Israeli airstrikes on the Syrian capital Damascus, Syrian state media reported.

The raids early on Sunday hit a building in central Damascus’s Kafr Sousa neighbourhood near a large, heavily guarded security complex close to Iranian installations, Reuters news agency said, citing witnesses.

Loud explosions were heard over a central area of the capital around 12.30am (2130 GMT Saturday), and the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that Syrian air defences were “confronting hostile targets in the sky around Damascus”.

Citing a military source, SANA reported that five people had been killed, among them a soldier, along with “destruction of a number of residential buildings”.

“It caused damage to several civilian homes and material damage to a number of neighbourhoods in Damascus and its vicinity,” the army said in a statement.

Footage posted by state media showed that a 10-storey building was badly damaged in the attack, crushing the structure of its lower floors.

“The strike on Sunday is the deadliest Israeli attack in the Syrian capital,” said Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a United Kingdom-based group that has a wide network of sources inside Syria.

Israel has not commented on the airstrikes which come more than a month after an Israeli missile attack hit the Damascus International Airport, killing four people, including two soldiers.

Bismillah.

Humanity, Generosity, Compassion and The Power Of Faith.

The tragedy and magnitude has been immense. The loss of life on a huge scale along with the grief of those who lost loved ones.

But in the face of this event wevhave seen extraordinary examples of Faith and compassion. The ummah uniting to help Turkiye and Syria. Even the poorest of countries and the poorest of peoples sending Aid. Afghanistan itself suffering tremendous hardship, sent $200,000 in aid. I have seen videos of Rohingya in refugee camps in Bangladesh donating what they could.

Of course the numerous acts of generosity of the Turkish people themselves to help those affected.

Then we have seen the of Power faith and miraculous stories of survival..

Rescue workers reciting Zikr and Salat, and Quran well digging for survivors as have those being rescued have been doing the same whilst waiting to be rescue. And Muslims from around the world praying for the victims from the valleys of Kashmir to the remote villages in Africa.

I even saw a video of a Christian woman in America saying how inspired she was by the faith of those in Turkiye and Syria. That is the power of Islam and its followers. Subhan’Allah.
