In essence, our preparation of battle is not intended to prepare us for a meeting with our Creator rather a preparation to stay in this dunya as long we can stretch it.

Even the ahadith regarding Mahdi and Islam's eventual dominance, aren't talking about some high tech battle with the kuffar. Rather the conquest of Constantinople would be through the Mahdi reciting the kalima.

Also, there are reports circulating that the attack may have been through a drone. So the bomber may still be alive, hence not shaheed. Only the people who came to offer their salah were shaheed.

I am heartened by the brothers' replies here that say we must not delve too deep in these matters, and not pass judgment too hastily. Beslan, Lal Masjid, Peshawar are similarly also all complex issues. Something as abhorrent as the cold blooded murder of innocent children and mosque going worshippers cannot be looked at in simple black and white.

Along similar reasoning, I'm sure other controversial topics discussed on this forum (and elsewhere) might likely also contain similar nuance and we should probably refrain from passing judgment too quickly, and leave the matter to Allah Taala.

May Allah Taala guide us all and help us navigate these important matters, and act in a manner that pleases Him. Ameen.

The point is, in this case. No one knows the fate of anyone of them.

Who knows if out of all of them, it was decreed for them all to die for something we don't know about, due to the qadr of Allah. Be it a shaheed or not.

One could've been killed by the will of Allah because in the future, they were going to create more harm to their families than good, so Allah had written this for him.

Have we not learnt anything from the story of Musa عليه السلام

Have we not learnt anything from the story of the companion who killed a man after he took the shahada in the battle field and how upset the Prophet (saw)

became with the companion who was asked repeatedly if he saw what was in his heart?
