Brothers, this is a very interesting discussion.

(1) Is there an ideological basis for the actions of the tehreek that is endorsed by ulama in Af-Pak?
(2) If so, is this view also endorsed by the majority of akabir ulama of Af-Pak?

Right now alot of Mujahideen have been thrown under the bus. I am not even close to the dust under Mufti Taqi Saabs feet. But there is alot of people upset with the following: www.google.com/amp/s/tribune.com.pk/story/2397401/those-f...

The timing of this meeting and the incident is quite suspicious or rather convenient.

Brother, i cannot understand why anyone would be upset with this unanimous decree by the ulama and mashaikh of Af-Pak.

Yes, he murdered Muslims, but why? The answer to that why would be the intention. And that intention of his could have been a simple case of a simple man being brainwashed into doing that act. Assuming that the bomber was from KPK itself do you even realize how simple the Pathans of KPK are? They are easily manipulated emotionally so it is not far fetched to believe that he would have been brainwashed.

But all that is just speculation because from what is being suggested it doesn't even look like this was the work of a suicide bomber rather a case of planted bombs.

And if you were to ask a majority of Pakistanis right now, they would tell you, like I firmly believe as well, that there is a high probability that the faasiq Pakistani military is behind this. For political reasons. So there you go, that should give your your clear distinction between the shuhada and the perpetrators. To tell to the non-Muslims.

Majority of the people in this meeting are highly questionable figures. If you do a quick Google search of their names you will see their scandals. There was no unanimous decision of Afg-Pak Ulama. It was Mufti Taqi Saab and the people in the meeting.
Shiahs, Barelwis etc.

Brother fod, I'm sure you don't mean to label the entire armed forces, or even the majority of the armed forces to be transgressors. From personal experience with close relatives in the armed forces, i understand that they are guided by a strong sense of honor and patriotism.

Brother Siddiqui, wouldn't the fact that Mufti Sahab HA supported the decree point to its soundness on merit alone?

20 or so years ago I would have said that's true. Now unfortunately, what I am saying has a higher probability of being true. Of course Pakistanis will tell you that there are only a few black sheep who are giving the entire military a bad name, but from what I have understood of the affairs it's the majority that is the black sheep and there are very few exceptions who are sincere.

Unfortunately, no one pays attention to the core of the issue. The military is not comprised of people who were born with the label of their "job" being attached to them from the womb. They are from the population itself. And the affairs of the military are a reflection of the state of the Muslim society of Pakistan.

I hope I am proven wrong one day, but in the coming days the rest of the Muslim Ummah is highly likely to witness the kind of fisq u fujoor that they wouldn't have expected in Pakistan, much less from the military

Dirty Bidatis sold us out in the past:

A fatwa from Maulana Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi (1856-1921), the guide of the ‘Barelvis’, as they were called—who in terms of sect probably constituted the majority grouping among Punjabi Muslims—aided the Raj. Since the Ottomans did not belong to the Prophet’s Quraish tribe, they could not claim, the Maulana declared, to be Islam’s caliphs. His fatwa cleared the way for many pirs in Punjab to continue supporting recruitment into the army.114

Brother fod, our ulama and mashaikh are also from the same stock of the general population. If they can somehow rise above the general population and exhibit praiseworthy traits as a result of their hard work and discipline, wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that military training would also help recruits inculcate some good traits that set them apart from general civilians?

The training and discipline of ulama and mashaikh is connected to deen, the military is keeping the soldiers well away from that. You should understand that the philosophy with the Pakistani military is exactly that of Attaturk's Turkey. There's little to no chance of the training leading them anywhere but a thoroughly worldly outlook. The crux of which is gathering wealth, patriotism be damned. I would have given them the benefit of the doubt even if they were far from deen but patriotic. Although patriotism is the concept of kuffar, but still that would have been some glimmer of hope. But nope. That is not their training at all. You need to be on ground in Pakistan to understand that.

Brother, this is a serious thing to say about the only institution (in our alam e asbaab) that is currently holding the nefarious designs of the enemies to the east and far west at bay. I sincerely hope the common Pakistan is not as disillusioned with the military establishment.

Brother, Maulana Obaidullah Sindhi RA also urged Muslims (even young ulama and tulaba) to take up careers in the (then imperial British) military. He said he could foresee that soon Muslim states would emerge around the world and they would be led by their military leaders and he wanted practising Muslims to join their ranks so they would be able to influence national and international policy.

To be honest I am glad that this particular "idol" of the Pakistani Muslims has been shattered. I'm hoping it gets shattered for the rest of the Muslim Ummah as well. If the kuffar believe that a strong army and plenty of missiles will ensure their security and the Muslims also believe that a strong army and plenty of missiles will ensure our security, then what is the difference between us and them.

Only when this false idol is shattered will the Muslims start looking for an alternative and will inshaAllah find Allah.
