Ms Eman Al-Ghamidi was appointed assistant mayor of Al Khubar governorate "as part of a plan to boost the number of females in leadership positions in line with Vision 2030", said the Centre for International Communication at the Ministry of Culture and Information on Wednesday.

We read this news some time back. But now it is heard very regularly. Ladies are appointed for Key posts. Ambassador to USA, even key positions in Haj ministry etc.

There is a junoon there that they shall progress when ladies have 50% are more participation. Will that happen. Are men inefficient in KSA?

Many of us wished that let KSA progress as return for khidmath to Hajees and pilgrims. Now it is a tricky situation, KSA will assume that it has progressed due to ladies participation.

If that was to happen then Vietnam would have been a progressed country.

The total population sex ratio in Vietnam ranged at 98 males to 100 females. Jamaat visiting there share that it is a female dominant society, ladies every where. Even butcher shops are run by ladies. And many men take care of homes. But did Vietnam progress..

If done with proper hijab and segregation, is it still unacceptable?

Watch the following image; Will this bring progress to Saudia. How and why, why not without this. Were the present men with these responsibilities inefficient? Or the barakah has left, both the husband and wife have to earn for a living.

Allah SWT fed the Arabs through; gifting them Petroleum resources, this was similar to Mann wa Salwa for Bani Israel. Bani Israel wanted something more, other than Mann wa Salwa…. They lost Mann wa Salwa also. Let us watch how modernity brings happiness.

According to Zahraa Hamaada, Saudi women are able to engage in many fields of work and prove their skills and talents in them. “This is why I look forward to opening the first women’s project on polishing and decorating cars. Decorating and caring for cars is a unique world all together in which women can excel and prove their worth in this sector,” she said while lauding the state’s support for the empowerment of women in various fields so as to make them a pivotal component in building the edifice of the nation.

Note: Today these women are participating in nation building and it is optional for them; I mean if they wish, they can stay back at home. A day is not very far from now when it shall be compulsory for them to earn their livelihood.

Himma Hatta Al-Qimmah has been inspired by words of the Crown Prince Muhammed Bin Salman, “The Saudis strength is like that of the Tuwaiq mountain, unbreakable.”

Why not without women power.

New York (CNN Business)

Hundreds of thousands of women — nearly eight times more than the number of men — dropped out of the US labor force last month, as the pandemic continues to exacerbate inequalities in America's economy.

About 617,000 women left the workforce in September alone, compared with only 78,000 men, according to government data released Friday. Half of the women who dropped out were in the prime working age of 35-44.

While the huge number of dropouts also reduced the unemployment rate, the country-wide female jobless rate remained at 8% in September. For Black and Hispanic women, the unemployment rates are higher.

Women have been hit harder by this recession than by previous downturns. Industries that employ a lot of women, such as hospitality and leisure, are faring worse during the pandemic.
Women also are more likely to take on care responsibilities in the home, which during a time of homeschooling and home caring can be too much for many to continue their professional careers.

And moms are more than three times as likely than dads to shoulder most of the housework and caregiving, according to McKinsey's and LeanIn's Women in the Workplace report.

Lana D. in California, for example, who requested only her first name be used out of privacy concerns, said she and her husband decided that one of them had to step back from their careers to support their two young children's primary school education. In the end, it was Lana who put her career in product management on hold to stay home.

Last month's massive workforce dropout rate for women is at least partially due to the lack of childcare options, said Russel Price, chief economist at Ameriprise, in emailed comments. Employment in child daycare services was still down nearly 18% in September from its pre-pandemic level, he added.

Making the decision to leave the workforce isn't easy. In a household with two earners, partners may decide for the one with the lower income to take a step back.

Single parents don't have that kind of leeway.

"I really wish they could figure something out to help single moms," said Jessica R. of North Carolina, a single mother of one who also requested only her first name be used out of privacy concerns.

"I have always been a very hard worker,"Jessica added. "I do not like depending on the government and I'm sure the other moms in my position feel the same way. There has to be something that the government can figure out to help us."

But hopes for further government stimulus were upended on Tuesday when President Donald Trump shut down any negotiations until after the election.

Jessica is collecting unemployment benefits for the first time in her life and moved in with her mother to make ends meet. Her assistant manager position in retail disappeared in the pandemic. Now that her child's schooling is done remotely, she doesn't know how she could to return to work, she told CNN Business.

And it's not just the salary that disappears after quitting a job — benefits also fall away.
"I do worry that now I am not contributing to a 401(k), and that it will be hard to get back into the workforce," said Teresa Derdiarian from California, a former proposal coordinator for Associated Right of Way Services, who left the workforce to care for her two young children during the pandemic.
Although she has thought about going back to work, the prospect of paying thousands of dollars in childcare costs every month, as well as possibly exposing herself or her family to Covid-19, is an argument against it, she told CNN.

"I am hopeful that the government will pass another round of extra assistance soon. The virus has not gone away, so I don't see why they stopped helping out families," Derdiarian said.

Until parents have adequate care options for their children again, many won't be able to return to work. That will be a continuing weight on the economic recovery.

If Saudis continue with their taaddud azwaaj tradition, then some of their women folk entering the workforce should be able to benefit them economically now that oil revenues are no longer going to be sustainable.

If they transition to single wife marriages, then they will inherit all the problems that Western society is plagued with, with regard to modesty, child rearing, and care for the elderly.

They will need to tread carefully.

TAIF — Wafa Saqr, the female hairdresser of Taif, returned to work on Thursday after obtaining a license to practice the profession.

Wafa shared her passion and enthusiasm to engage in a profession dominated by males.

She will serve children under the age of 10.

Comments: What compelled her to take the profession of barber.

1. There is overload on male barbers. Reduction in number of male barbers.

2. She has to support her family. Income is insufficient to run the family.

3. There is no one to support her.... We ask what happened to social security for their citizens.

4. She claims she takes this as a challenge, passion etc. She must know that in other societies also; initially women took it as a challenge. Now they have to compulsorily earn to pay their bills, male members won't support them. These women don't know when the transition from:
optional, enthusiasm, passion etc. .....to.... compulsorily earn for themselves happened.
