Maulana Sajjad Nomani DB talks about recent political realignments and its bearing on the end of times.
Some important points he spoke about:
As qiyamah approaches, a time will come when the world will unite on Islam. Unity between Shia and Sunni can only come about by someone who is equally revered by both groups, and this person will be Sayyiduna Mahdi AS. He will call the Shia towards true Islam and unite them with the Ahlus Sunnah.
Christianity will unite with Islam at the hands of someone who is equally revered by both groups, and that is going to Sayyiduna Eesa AS. He will call Christians to Islam.
He says this was the opinion of Allama Anwar Shah Kashmiri RH and Maulana Ubaidullah Sindhi RH.
Then he speaks about the formation of the Muslim personal law board in India, and how despite extreme differences of opinion, all different groups who were labeled as Muslim by the Indian government were invited to join forces to safeguard the sanctity of Shari'ah for Muslims against attempts by the government to weaken Muslim identity in India.
He says the akabir clearly expressed their differences in creed with other Muslim groups, but used language that left room to maneuver when unity was required among different groups against external threats.
He spoke in context of the recent events in Pakistan on the day of Ashura. He says there are forces who are trying to cause bloodshed between Shia and Sunni, and we must resist these provocations while clearly expressing our difference of creed with them.
I don't remember, the last incident, we heard of a Shia Sunni conflict in India. It was a battle ground in Kanpur, Lucknow, Hyderabad etc during Muharram, a few decades back.
May be Indians have learnt aadab e ikhtelaaf; ikhtelaaf mein akhlaq aur insaaf math chhodo; do justice and be steadfast with akhlaq during ikhtelaaf.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
