But real persecution started after 1990 when militancy started.

If kashmiris had agreed to live with India before 1990 it would have been normal like any other state of India. Or similar to persecution of political opponents elsewhere in India.

In general, in India, Islam was never in danger before 2014.

Rather it was golden opportunity missed by kashmiris to present Islam to visiting tourists. But unfortunately there was no difference between people of Agra and kashmiris as host.

See no matter what you do to appease your Hindu majority, they ain't gonna accept you. You will remain OUR brothers and OUR sisters because there's no bond greater than the bond of Islam.

Our interaction with majority communities across entire Country for a long period suggests different reason. We say Hindus won't accept us, our wide experience suggests (no exaggeration), our actions repelled them.

The Armed resistance began after Massacres were carried out by Indian Occupation forces in 1990 against Peaceful protestors.

Amongst those are .
Gawakadal massacre.
Handwara massacre.
Zakoora and Tengpora massacre.
Hawl Massacre.

As the peaceful protests gather force, the Indian Occupation forces, then started a campaign of abductions, arbitrary detentions and mass rapes.

To resist occupation through armed resistance, is not only a right enshrined in International law.

It is also enshrined in Islam, Muslims have the right to defend their land, their wealth, their property, and their honour.

Surah Al Baqarah 217

They1 ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about fighting in the sacred months.2 Say, “Fighting during these months is a great sin. But hindering ˹others˺ from the Path of Allah, rejecting Him, and expelling the worshippers from the Sacred Mosque is ˹a˺ greater ˹sin˺ in the sight of Allah. For persecution3 is far worse than killing. And they will not stop fighting you until they turn you away from your faith—if they can. And whoever among you renounces their own faith and dies a disbeliever, their deeds will become void in this life and in the Hereafter. It is they who will be the residents of the Fire. They will be there forever.”4

Shaykh explains that:

An ignorant friend will harm you more than a wise enemy, although he had good intention of helping you.

This is what pakistan is doing to Indian Muslims.

Let me read history, whether those persecutions triggered militancy or militancy triggered persecutions.

Note: I am not defending the tyranny.

This proves only one point. That we are seeing the words of the Quran come true right in front of our eyes. That the kuffar are "peaceful" with us only when we act like them. As long as the Muslims remain passive and subservient like the mushrikeen, they like us.

What you call militancy is a big part of who we Muslims are. The bravery to stand up for what's right, to stand up for our own rights. And as you said, the moment we started acting on that instinct of ours, the mushrikeen went to war with us.

Why those principles are specific to kashmiris and phalestenians. Why doesn't apply to all muslims including those who are residing under muslim rulers.

Haq ke liye marna achha
Haq ke liye koyee aur marae aur achha.

Dying for justice is good
If someone else dies for justice is even better.

Those across the border are living a lavish life, persecution of muslims is in this side of border.

As someone once stated:
" In the end we will not remember the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends."

It is shameful that we have Muslims who have chosen to blame their oppressed brothers and sisters in faith. For refusing to be silent and compliant victims.
Instead of the very least speaking out against the oppression.

I remember a Brother mentioning, that in Syria at the height of the tyranny of Assad, the Muslims stated "where are the Muslims? where is the Ummah? Why is no one helping us?"
The Brother asked where were you for decades when the people of Falasteen called out to you?"

We see that taking a stand will disrupt, our own lives and may have major repercussions. So we have taken to blame the Kashmiri to blame the Palestinians to hide our own selfishness and cowardliness.
We here the same rhetoric in the Arab world, lamenting that if it was not for the Palestinians then our lives would have been peaceful and economically prosperous. Even during this conflict we have certain media like Al Arabiyya and analysts propagating this.
We have this with Muslims in India, we have even have certain sell outs, muttering the same in Pakistan.

That applies for pakistani muslims and to some extent Saudi muslims. But poor kashmiris and phalestenians are at receiving end.

When kashmiri muslims were offered to live in peace, with no hindering in practicing Islam, preaching Islam. (May not be available in many muslim countries), but they wanted nothing less than Azadi, resulting in a country similar to pakistan or Bangladesh (defaming Islam)

Firstly that was their right that was stolen from them.
Secondly the Indians have sought to present a distorted version of history, with lies and fabrications.
Thirdly some Muslims within Indian have given succour and sustenance to this narrative, rather then pointing the finger at the Mushrikin oppressors. Because they were afraid for themselves and the consequences of what would happen if they spoke out.
Well the consequence has still arrived at the door, of the Muslims of India.

The answer for you is Surah An Nisa at 75.
The following is translation by Muhsin Khan.

"And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allah, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help.”

1. oppression started after militancy started. So kashmiris had a chance to take a non-violent path to achieve their goal.

2. Wallah indians are more hurt than pakistani muslims when they hear news of oppression on muslims in kashmir.

3. but there was a chance to rebuild, adopt and live with circumstances, (from 2004 to 2014), but zealots re-ignited the slogan "nothing less than azadi". And things went from bad to worse from 2014 onwards.
