Alhamdulillah!

Muslim (832) narrated from ‘Urwah ibn ‘Abasah that he said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “With what were you sent?” He said, “I was sent to uphold the ties of kinship, to break the idols, and so that Allaah would be worshipped alone with no partner or associate.”

Why did they even report the find? Should have just razed it to the ground so no one could have told the difference between ruins of a statue and the rocks on the ground.

The "prosecution" is Indian news and I have not seen any confirmation of it so lets wait for official confirmation there is no provision in Pakistani law for doing something like this.

Indian Media lie all the time and blatantly...This could be true or could be false.

Most of the news on this topic is from Indian posters and their Social Media account. Here is India Media claiming that Maulana gave a Fatwa that "Nikah will break" if you don't destroy this statue

The local Police would have moved in to maintain peace and order after this scuffle but lets wait to see what happens next...

Arrest will happen by the local SHO to restore law and order and that's normal. If you shout in a Masjid you can be arrested for breaking law and order, no big deal.
