Before I give you the link, let me narrate to you true events of 1948 in Kashmir.

1948: Ladakh

China and India in 2020 are at loggerheads in Ladakh. This is the toughest terrain and closed for human travel for most of the year except a few Summer months. In 1947 when Muhammad Ali Jinnah (RA) declared Jihad on India, the local Gilgit Mujahideen crossed into India in Mid-December in 15 feet of snow walked 150 miles and fought with two Indian Army battalions who were completely taken off guard as no human could cross the Himalayas in 1948. The Indian Army were cut to size by Mujahideen and Gilgit-Baltistan became part of Pakistan.

Previously from 22 October 1947, Pushtun Mujahideen along with light infantry marched into Kashmir and reached Srinagar (from where they were recalled).

Azad Kashmir became part of Pakistan.

1967: Khunjerab Pass

CPEC passes through this region linking Pakistan with China. The only crazy guy to cross this entire area on foot (to this day) at record pass is this Tableeghi, now enjoy the story.

Old tableeghis often narrate stories of him being found cleaning the toilets at Raiwind Markaz. An act that many of the elders of Tabligh considered a good practice to achieve humility.

To be honest he wasn't an intelligence officer so should not have headed the ISI, but...

As head of ISI during the Bosnian war, he defied America & Pakistan and authorised Anti-Tank weapons to be supplied to Bosnian Mujahideen.

Pakistani C130 loaded up with latest sophisticated weaponry secretly flew missions between Islamabad and Sarajevo

The Mujahideen started blowing up Serbian tanks supplied by Russians and reversed the battle-field, forcing negotiations.

He was sacked as the head of ISI, and forcibly retired and replaced by General Javed Ashraf Qazi with a specific mandate:

Clean up Islamic influence from ISI and Pakistani Army
Arrest and suppress Jihad in Kashmir
Arrest and deport all foreign Mujahideen from Pakistan which forced Arabs & Al-Qaeda to shift from Pakistan to Afghanistan

He was a Colonel in Nizam's Army as he himself told me when I was on active duty, he was very affectionate with me (and all military) people including my mentor and Ameer (also Ex-Military). I believe that he was a graduate of Sandhurst (UK) before the partition of India as that's what I understood from talking to him.

The word "Karnal" and all other derivatives are made up terms by Tableeghees. The most disciplined person on the Sunnah, I have ever seen or witnessed or observed.

Men like Colonel Saheb (RA) are rare-breed in the world.

I used to read that thread regularly every few months.. And be left awestruck that there were still people of that ilk with in the ummah.
