Not Nation Of Islam...They dont participate in such type of protests.
Just regular black muslim converts who have been present at certain protests.
About 30% of the muslim population in America is made up of converts, mainly from the Black community. A large body of them convert in the American prison system.
In the innercities in places such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago etc. Many of the black people who are not muslims are familiar with some Islamic terminology will regularly use AsSaalam Alaykum. Or address each others as Akh short for Akhi.
Even amongst the non-muslim black people will give their children names such as Tarik , Jamal, Malik, omar, Aaliyah etc.
So if you see a black American on tv or social media with an Islamic name they will not necessarily be muslim. Just named that by their parents at birth because its seen as cool.
The Nation Of Islam have a completely different belief system. They dont perform Salah let alone Adhan.
