Nothing will happen

"Without referring to the military standoff, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong said both sides should resolve their differences through communication and adhere to the basic premise that they pose no threat to each other."

There will be no war because China doesn't want any and India is too weak to fight China.

China is looking to secure Galwan Valley so India's threats to CPEC are cut down to size and GilGit-Baltistan is secure. India knows that so it will be interesting to see what happens.

This means, in sending thousands of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) troops three-to-four kilometres into the Galwan Valley, China has violated its own claim line and occupied territory that Beijing has traditionally acknowledged to be Indian.

This is not shaping up like a routine patrol confrontation, this time PLA soldiers were digging defences, preparing bunkers, moving in heavy vehicles and have reportedly even moved artillery guns to the rear to support the intruders. The Chinese have pitched close to a hundred tents at four points on the Galwan River between Patrolling Point 14 and another location called Gogra.

Indian troops in the area were taken by surprise when a large Chinese force crossed the LAC in late April. Since then, Indian forces have not challenged or confronted the PLA.

Sources say the PLA is expanding its presence. There are fresh reports that it has initiated another infiltration in Southern Ladakh.

Absolute non-sense.

  1. There will no war or Armed conflict between India and China
  2. China will neither dismantle nor back down from the Indian Territory it has captured
  3. India will (probably) settle for lost Territory and infrastructure build up along the "Indian perception of LAC" will slow down
  4. IF India decides to make a stalemate, China will strike India in non-Kinetic domains where they can inflict untold damage and misery to India without reprisals or attributions.

Indian defence analysts and Indian Army are so far behind the curve and that's why they got their butt kicked by a 7 times smaller Pakistan

Sir, confirms my analysis and he is one of the top Indian Defence Analysts who is competent, mature and level headed.

I don't know most Indians still live in and think like this in 1939 We are in 2020 and there won't be wars like 1962 etc, we live in sensor connected warfare.

China has achieved its strategic objectives and they are now in consolidation phase. They will not go back on their gains and will not escalate further. They would want India to accept the new status quo. Now it is up to India to recapture the area taken by Chinese, in which case it may lead to an all out war.The ball is now in the Indian court. If they do nothing they loss territory and Modi loss face. If they try to recapture the area they risk war. They will have to choose which one is the best option for them.

Bit confused about this issue. BBC news recently reported the clashes between China and India at the borders is fake news and they have gone out of their way to provide evidence

www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/world-asia-53092492

However, news has continued to come through from various different media reports that it did take place and things between the two forces are still progressing

va.newsrepublic.net/s/ejvefZR

I also read an article on funerals being held of Hindu soldiers who were killed in the clashes although also aware that deaths were on both sides.

So why are some outlets stating nothing has happened? Why would the media want readers to believe that it didn’t take place. Don’t get it :/

BBC has not said that the news about recent clash is fake news. The article literally mentions in the first paragraph that "Following the deadly clash between Chinese and Indian forces in a disputed Himalayan border area this week , misleading images and videos have been widely shared by social media users."

It ends the article with "So again, this is completely unrelated to the current clash."
