Virtually the same!

Except it was my second attempt at making it and I have a rubbish camera and zero studio lights.

Hence proved that Ssaad was right about 'you' people.

Nice thread. Its been impressive reading how much knowledge of types of spices and food the brothers have. Keep it up, recipes are endless. I found an amazing butter chicken recipe on Instagram. Gave it a try and came out really nice. Ive been using the recipe for few years now.

It’s a risk using online recipes because you just don’t know how it’s going to turn out and don’t want to be wasting time or ingredients on a failed recipe. Fortunately this one came out nice. Let me know if your interested and I’ll share it on here.

Butter chicken

Ingredients

1 and 1/2 Tbsp unsalted butter
5 green cardamon
1” cinnamon stick
4 cloves
1 small diced onion
1 tbsp grated ginger
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
3 tbsp tomato purée
150ml double cream
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp kastoori methi/fenugreek Leaf
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander to garnish

Tsp - teaspoon
Tbsp - tablespoon

Recipe did not specify amount of boneless chicken to be used. 1kg of boneless chicken would more than suffice. Also I forget to use butter and have already added onions to oil instead at this stage and it has still turned out nice.

Method:

Melt butter, add Diced onions and allow to sauté, add cardamom, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Once onions are light brown add boneless chicken until sealed and Thoroughly cooked

Add chilli powder, garam masala, salt, ginger, tomato purée. Stir well and allow to cook for couple of minutes. Gradually stir in double cream until thoroughly mixed. Allow to simmer for 2-3 mins.

At this stage add splash of water if too thick. Add honey and fenugreek powder, allow to simmer for 8-10mins on low heat. Garnish with coriander.

You will know for next time if you need to make any adjustments to adapt to your personal taste. Enjoy!

Don’t feel tempted to add any other desi ingredients until you’ve tried the above recipe as it is.

Slightly sweet. I’m not into sweet dishes. It’s hardly noticeable.
