It is false to say that today Muslims are getting converted because muslims are in power. More people are getting converted in non muslim countries than muslim countries.

Muslims moving towards Ilhaad, Aethist, socialism are in Muslim countries, part of them physically and part virtually. And it is happening in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

What is being said is that what way deen should be spread is dependent upon the need of that time period. Sometimes its physical conquest that is needed, sometimes it is the good akhlaq of the Muslims, sometimes there needs to be an active movement of dawah. And it is usually the case that when Muslims are dominant, the means of akhlaq and active dawah are more effective. But when the Muslims are subservient, no matter how much akhlaq they show, it is usually the case that no kaafir is going to be impressed by it. Because as far as they are concerned that "akhlaq" is merely a position of weakness.
