This international date line near Fiji is consensus of the modern world, that it is Thursday behind this line and Friday after the line. Or it is 30th April behind the line and it is 1st of May after the line.

My question is what is the importance of this line in Islamic Shariah.

Or where Islamic Thursday ends and Friday starts. Does it happen at Makkah. Or we follow the current consensus of the modern world.

For Islamic date we have Hilal visibility curve.

A good homework for people who say, we have landed on moon and we don't use science for moon sighting.

So there is no authentic reference from Quran and saheeh hadeeth to accept Modern International date line as Islamic date line.

We can say, There is a ijmaa of Muslim jurists to accept the ijmaa of modern world. But this is not for those who reject ijmaa of sahabah.

I had inquired this with many people who advocate One day Eid. I didn't get any satisfactory reply.

Nothing!

It is not even important in legal terms, many places do not follow it.

One day Eid is almost impossible and the proof is in the Qur'an 2.189

Islamically, the next day starts at Maghrib.

So reading Surah al-Kahf is sunnah on Jumuah...but its best to actually do it Thursday night and there is evidence of this too.

I was inquiring with brothers who insist on single day Eid, They insist that declaration of Eid and Arafah in Makkah must be followed by the whole world. Good... But towards East where is the limit for this declaration, I mean if it is Sunday in Makkah, in the east till which place is Sunday.

I said, no human theories please. And no Ijma of humans. You insists on Quran and Saheeh hadith. So present reference from Quran saheeh hadith for your reply.

The reply is silence.

So let us happily follow what was followed by ummah for 1400 years. Decentralize eid declaration. Less headache.

I guess someone can argue that when it is a particular blessed time in Makkah (tahajud time, specific time on Friday), that doesn't mean that that particular blessed time is occurring everywhere in the world at the same time. Those in other places have to wait untill they reach tahajud time or that time on Jumua for example.

Our friends argue on fazeelath of Arafah day. They claim that there can't be two Arafah days. Well.. I ask them, if Arafah is on Saturday, when we move towards East, at a particular place it will not be Saturday, it is Friday here.
Now we don't have solution for this in Quran and Saheeh Hadith. Ijma is the only solution here. But our friends reject Ijma.

You keep stressing on:
Quote:

And I'll keep insisting that there is an answer from the Qur'an. Please listen to the clip in the original post (linked)

Let's look at the Hadith as a metaphorical instruction.

For example, Allah Descends EVERY NIGHT and at a certain time..... The Hadith mentions the forgiveness.

“The Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the night remains and says: ‘Who will call upon Me, that I may answer Him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will seek My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’”

In the UK, its daytime whilst in USA its a different time zone and in Malaysia its a different time zone, so at any one time it is the last portion of the night! Does that mean Allah is always at the first Heaven?

My understanding is that its the action of the believers that bring the Hadith and its rewards and understanding to life! Because there is not one time on the face of the earth where its not the last portion of the night.

So when Arafah is in Makkah, it is for them and those sitting in the UK, India, USA etc, their Arafah is when the time comes according to their sighting of the moon.

It's not difficult to understand, its common sense.

Same goes for Laylatul Qadr.

If Pakistan sees the Moon and India Doesn't, Laylatul Qadr will be on the night according to their correct sighting, so it can be on Monday and Tuesday.
