It is testing time for Pakistan. If anything worse happens, Allah na kare, Islam will be blamed. It is not about non-muslims, fence sitters among muslims will hurt Islam.

Absolutely.

  • Washing hands with Soap for 20 Seconds
  • Using the Toilet at home and doing Wudhu at Home
  • Walking to the Masjid while over 6 Feet away OR driving in my own car
  • Using Hand Sanitiser at the Masjid and then entering
  • Praying Fardh Salah ONLY on my own Prayer Mat and then existing the Mosque immediately
  • Using Hand Sanitiser at the Masjid when exiting
  • Washing hands with Soap for 20 Seconds when returning Home

I have Postgraduate Education in this field but you enlighten me of the risks on above?

I am repeating that the plan is sound (and cannot fault the Fatwa) but it remains to be seen that my people (of Pakistan) will follow it...So lets look at the implementation side of things

Yes, I would make that call (personally) to pray Taraweeh at home as well.

The infected person will say, this is time to please Allah and spends more time than others in Masjid.
If allowed the infected will do etekaaf for whole month.
Chalo, aakhir mein kutchh jholi Bhar lein.

Transmission is mostly via air and aerosols. Standing next to each other in confined spaces won't help, definitely. I am pretty sure it will be very Bad in Pakistan and all other countries, may Allah have mercy.

In my view, like in India, Imran khan must NOT allow congregation in masajid. He must act tough to save Pakistanis.

Assalamu 'alaykum,
these are the facts, that the virus remains in the aerosols and the air, so I return you the advice.
Just look at the latest articles, that explains why ICU doctors and nurses get infected even though they wear surgical masks (which are not as effective as FFP2 or N95), and yes, they wash their hands way better and more frequently than lay people.

Still, such measures are best for countries that have a minimum of ICU beds, in the case of Pakistan, lockdown or no lockdown, people are still gonna die one day or the other. I hope with summer poor muslim countries are saved by the Mercy of Allah.

I have been told by a doctor that the surgical masks can fail to protect them. They recommend FFP3 or N99 as the minimum.

Of course these doctors are literally swimming in the virus, much less than those in public.

Coronavirus is not airborne, please quote me a single source of that.

Jazakallahu Khayran

Have you also become a "random poster" and disregarding facts?

COVID-19 is spread via droplets and the Virus (itself) is not airborne. If you disagree, post something to state your point.

State the facts that the masks or PPE is unable to protect against droplets containing the virus.

This is vastly different to the Virus being airborne.

"Experts that work on airborne respiratory illnesses and aerosols say that gathering unequivocal evidence for airborne transmission could take years and cost lives. We shouldn’t “let perfect be the enemy of convincing”, says Michael Osterholm, an infectious-disease epidemiologist at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

In the mind of scientists working on this, there’s absolutely no doubt that the virus spreads in the air,” says aerosol scientist Lidia Morawska at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. “This is a no-brainer.

Besides, this virus, SARS-Cov-2, is quite similar in its structure to its older brother SARS-CoV-1, for which washing hands was not that useful, see www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2004973?referringSourc...

So you have 2 choices, either you follow the evidence only when it is confirmed after many months (you will be a good muqallid), or you follow what is already known to all that have a minimum expertise in the field (aka "learning science from whatsapp", according to you :D).

This my last reply on this topic. I don't need to convince you.

All in all, may Allah safeguard us and our elders. Don't let them go to mosques.

I'm only saying it how I'm being told be the people in the profession. By the people in the front line, by the people dealing with patients.

I'm not claiming its airborne. I'm saying that it spreads very quickly from surface to surface via sneezing, coughing and then touching other objects like door handles, footware, money etc.

The virus sits on the surface and then spreads.

So if a doctor touched a patient then adjusted his or her N95 (95% protection) mask, there is a chance the virus could be inhaled.

That's all I'm trying to say.

My father in law went for Jummah at his local Masjid in Malir, Karachi.

He said there was no space at all! No space to stand, let alone keeping any distance or gaps.

He said that the mosques are trialing it there upto Ramadan to see how people will cooperate, then they'll make a further decision.

My view is that, Martial Law is the only solution in Pakistan now. Military must take over.
