Insha'Allah, we will attempt to produce the essential evidence from Qur'aan and Sunnah about these events and personalities from the works of authentic Ulama.

I am deliberately blocking people from replying to this thread so please:

  1. Message me if something is missed
  2. Start new threads to debate on the chronology because the timings and interpretations can be discussed, the events are what they are.

The error in those who have been misled is trying to twist these verses and narrations instead of believing them on face value. There are many who go out of their way to twist these and assign bizarre meanings and interpretations to them.

It is what it is!

Dajjal (AntiChrist) in the Qur'aan and the Sunnah

  1. The clue is in the name, his properties (evil) are the opposite Christ whose properties are good
  2. He is Human. There is no evidence in the Qur'aan and the Sunnah to suggest that he is Jinn or alien etc and the fact that he was seen and will be seen is testament that he is human
  3. He is blind in one eye
  4. He will have the inscriptions (K-F-R) on his forehead which will be recognised by those who have faith regardless of the ability to be able to read or write
  5. He will come from Khurasan but appear in Syria. He will be followed by 70,000 Jews from Isfahan (Iran)
  6. He will call people to worship him and those who respond will be showered with rain (and blessings) and those who reject will be constricted with trouble and hardships.
  7. He will demonstrate his powers by cutting a human in half and then summoning him to life, this will be ONE OFF demonstration
  8. He will only be killed by Jesus (AS)

Protection from Dajjal?

As a normal human, you cannot fight Dajjal, you cannot deceive Dajjal and you are not immune to Dajjal but you can protect yourself by reciting the first 10 verses of Surah Al-Kahf (Chapter 18)

Jesus (AS) in the Qur'aan and the Sunnah

  1. He is born with no father from Virgin Mary as a miracle
  2. He performed miracles in his life
  3. He was lifted upto the heavens (alive) and will descent upon Earth and will kill Dajjal (Anti-Christ). He will descent in Damascus in the Ummayd Mosque
  4. He will then break the cross (meaning Christians will believe in him), end Jizyah (war tax), marry and then pass away, more will be covered in later sections

Sayyiduna Mahdi (AS) in the Qur'aan and the Sunnah

  1. Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) has narrated that Allah Ta'ala will appoint a special person who will revive (reinvigorate) Islam according to Sunnah.
  2. The word "Mahdi" literally means the one who shows you the (right) path. Due to this interpretation "some" Muslims of the past have believed that it is the title of Jesus (AS) i.e. he is the Guider (Al-Mahdi) but this is not correct because the narrations clearly talk about two separate individuals. In fact Imam Al-Shatibi (RA) [1320-1388] has refuted it to a great extent and concluded "Whosoever states that Jesus (AS) and Sayyiduna Mahdi (AS) are two persons is a liar!" and hence some later (Maliki Scholars) have adopted this opinion which is contrary to majority of Muslims. Qadiyanees deceive the Muslim (Ummah) by half quoting this opinion! These Ulama are NOT denying Al-Mahdi but merely saying that Sayyiduna Jesus (AS) are ONE i.e. Al-Mahdi (guider) is his title e.g. Sayyiduna Isa (AS) will guide people back to Allah Ta'ala.
  3. Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jamaat believe that he is separate and distinct (person) from Jesus (AS).
  4. The primary difference between Shia and Sunni is that the Sunni Muslims believe that he is a person who will revive Islam but has no authority to change anything in Islam.
  5. His name will be Ahmed, his father's name will be Abdullah and his mother's name will be Aamina
  6. There are narrations to state that he will be rectified in a single night and many scholars accept them as authentic.
  7. The biggest sign of Al-Mahdi is that Muslims will be powerless, leaderless and rudderless at his time and he will try to run away from the responsibility of being the leader. The SINGLE MOST fundamental factor to discount the liars is that they have always "claimed" to Al-Mahdi while the real one will be running away! He will be forced to accept leadership in the Kabah by people who will chase him and force him.

Army of Sayyiduna Mahdi (AS), Black Banners & Khurasan in the Sunnah

Politics:

Before reading further, please understand that political issues and "War on Terror" has played havoc with the research of these narrations. Before 2000 and during the reign of Taliban (i.e. Taliban 1.0) most Scholars firmly and openly believed that these narrations applied to Taliban, although Taliban had a white flag (and not black).

Then we had 9/11.

Overnight the world was filled with opinions of Scholars who believed that all these narrations are weak.

Then we had emergence of ISIS (black flags)

More reason for people to further cast doubt in these narrations.

Who knows? So I will simply reproduce these on face value because no Scholar in their right mind will openly answer your questions on this issue in public! The best material actually comes from Rand corporation and other US funded think tanks who have ensured that this narrations are forever rejected in the Ummah.

I have a feeling that with Taliban 2.0 more people will increasingly talk about these narrations, once again.

Khurasan by the way (when considered historically) is parts of Iran, Afghanistan and (North) Pakistan.

Ghazwatul-Hind (disintegration of India) in the Sunnah

Politics:

Before reading further, please understand that political issues and nationalism have played havoc with these narrations.

Indians:

  1. Indian Scholars have by and large never accepted these narrations as authentication (after 1947) because it goes against the National rhetoric. Same applied to Scholars of Indian descent and lineage
  2. They have further stated that these apply to earlier conquest of India (over 1000 years ago)

Pakistanis:

  1. (Common) Pakistanis live and breathe these narrations because it gives them bragging rights over India.
  2. (Pakistani) Deobandees by and large accepted these Ahadeeth in the past
  3. In the past 3-4 years is the first time I am seeing Pakistani Deobandees rejecting their authenticity (based on new research) and then making the same argument as Indians that "These apply to original conquest of India (over 1000 years ago)"

Disclaimer:

You can give an opinion that these are weak in authenticity and also quote Ibn Katheer (RA) that these apply to conquest of India (over 1000 years ago) but the later opinion makes no sense because these are linked to emergence of Jesus (AS). Ibn Katheer (RA) hundreds of years could have given his opinion but today it is extremely difficult to tie these to original conquest of India (over 1000 years ago) BECAUSE Jesus (AS) has still not emerged.

Before 2014, this was the standard opinion of (Pakistani) Deobandees as this is the most detailed and lucid research on this topic. After 2014 (and TTP) it became the need to subdue Jihadi forces in Pakistan so this topic lost its appetite among Deobandees. Nevertheless, Dr (Professor) has done justice to the subject at hand.

www.scribd.com/document/59338197/Ghazwa-e-Hind

Allamah Sarfaraz Khan Safdar (RA) has also written on the issue but now (Pakistani) Deobandees no longer mention it while Zaid Hamid and others mention nothing else but this.

It is what it is and here are most prominent narrations on face-value.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) narrated, "An army of yours will open India and Allah will grant its conquest to them, until they bring their kings in chains, and Allah will forgive them their sins. Then when they return, they will find the son of Maryam in ash-Shaam (Syria).”

Al-Khid'r (The Green man) with regenerative Powers

Lets now open up the discussion and talk about an issue associated with Dajjal which isn't agreed upon by Scholars in Islam.

The stories of Sayyiduna Musa (AS) are mentioned in the Qu'raan in 28 of the 30 parts. In one of the stories in Surah Al-Kah'f (Chapter 18) he asked another person who had knowledge which he accompanied for sometime, I advise you to refer to Surah Al-Kah'f (Chapter 18) for the incidents mentioned therein.

It is a near unanimous opinion in Islam that the person Sayyiduna Musa (AS) met was Al-Khd'r.

Loading Qur'aan Verse

From here, the difference of opinion begins. The stories of people meeting Al-Khid'r and him visiting the funeral and then the blessed grave site of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) are too many and too many continuous to throw away. There is no way that so many pious predecessors of Islam will collude to make this stuff up. Thus, a great number of Scholars such as Imam Nawawi (RA), Imam Ramli (RA) and others believe that he is still alive.

In fact, Imam Nawawi (RA) records a consensus of opinion of Scholars that he is still alive.

We still have to acknowledge that this is not mentioned in authentic narrations but even those who are of the opinion that he has passed away still mention that him being alive is mentioned by countless Salaf (pious predecessors).

When Dajjal emerges he will cut a "young man" in half and then call this "young man" back to life and then unable to kill him again. This is the ONE TIME stunt/demonstration of Dajjal which he will try on a specific person.

Loading Hadeeth

I follow the opinion of Ulama who say that this person whom Dajjal will try to kill will be Al-Khid'r who will not die because he does not age and does not die. In other words, Dajjal has no powers to give or take life from anyone (Allah Ta'ala does) but he will try to pull a stunt on someone with regenerative powers and impress the innocent.

But I am unable to provide evidence from authentic narrations for this chain of events.

You may ask, how is still possible for someone to remain alive, young and be able to regenerate? You have read earlier that Sayyiduna Tamim (RA) actually met Dajjal over 1400+ years ago and the same Dajjal willl emerge much later so why can't another person have similar powers?

Ya'jooj and Ma'joog (Gog & Magog) in the Qur'aan and the Sunnah

These creatures will let loose on Earth and create havoc AFTER Dajjal has been defeated. There are characters like Imran Hossein who believe that Gog & Magog are some in the white Caucasian (race) because they are stealing and pillaging the resources and wealth of other nations but it is his imagination. During the colonial era many Deobandi Scholars like Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri (RA) believed that British were Gog & Magog because of their colonial strength and quest for subjugation of others and exploitation.

Before Imran Hossein (hundreds of years ago) some speculated that Gog & Magog are Tatar (Mongols) who were brutal in their thirst for blood and conquest.

When China invaded India in 1962 (some Indian Scholars) believed that Chinese were Gog & Magog because India was simply overwhelmed by sheer number of Chinese troops.

My point is that in every era people have tried to stick the label of "Gog & Magog" on someone powerful.

Lets turn to Qu'raan and Sunnah.

Wall containing Gog & Magog

The King Dhul-Qarnain built a wall to contain Gog & Magog as mentioned in the Qu'raan. Before reading further know that King Dhul-Qarnain is certainly NOT "Alexander the Great"!

Gog & Magog will emerge after Dajjal has been defeated

This is where Imran Hossein is dead wrong that some in the white Caucasian (race)  is Gog & Magog.

Gog & Magog will outnumber humans by huge margins

Loading Hadeeth

How Gog & Magog will die?

  1. Gog & Magog will outnumber humans by a huge margin so humans cannot kill them
  2. Humans will ask Sayyiduna Isa (AS) to make Dua for Allah Ta'ala to kill them
  3. A insect will infect and kill them
  4. But then the corpses of Gog & Magog will stench the Earth
  5. Humans will ask Sayyiduna Isa (AS) to make Dua for Allah Ta'ala to save then from the stench
  6. Huge birds will come and carry the corpses
  7. Rain will clean the Earth of the remaining stench and odour

Suspension of Hajj due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Some have speculated that suspension of Hajj due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a sign of day of judgement. This is not the case because according to authentic narrations:

  1. Dajjal will emerge
  2. Dajjal will be killed
  3. Gog & Magog will emerge
  4. Gog & Magog will be killed
  5. THEN Hajj will be suspended

Where is the wall containing Gog & Magog?

We do not know but some scholars have speculated:

The Pandemic in the Qur'aan and the Sunnah

After the killing of Gog & Magog and washing off of their bodies, the Earth will be surrounded by "smoke". The following verses of the Qur'aan have two interpretations, first being a minority while the second being majority opinion.

  1. While in Makkah, in the face of persecution and obstinate rejection, Allāh’s Messenger (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) made a duʿā’ against the Quraysh, “O Allāh, afflict them with years like the seven (years) of Yūsuf!” The polytheists were afflicted with a severe drought. Their livestock began to die and their crops stopped growing. Their situation became so bad that they were forced to eat animals that had just died because of the drought. They ate their skins, their bones, everything. They were so hungry that the Quraysh began to imagine a haze in the sky like smoke.
  2. It is the opinion of many among the Sahaba (RA) that the following verses refer to this upcoming smoke . It is because the smoke mentioned in the verses is a "clear event" which everyone will be able to see and not just imagination of hazy sky!

Imam Tabari (RA) is of the opinion that this smoke will be (like a pandemic):

  1. Believers will get flu like symptoms
  2. Disbelievers will be badly affected (like being intoxicated) and discharge will come out of every orifice in their body

The destruction of Ka'bah, Beast and Rising of the Sun from the West in the Qur'aan and the Sunnah

These are three signs which appear very closely together and it is difficult to establish the order.

Qur'aan will be erased from Memory & Paper

Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood, who said: “Something will come and take the Qur’aan one night and not one aayah will be left, either in the Mus-haf or in the heart of any person, but it will be taken away.” [Darimi]

I heard this narration when I was a kid and it stuck in my head. It was mentioned to us because of the way the Barelwi Shake hands and press on the bone below the thumb. Apparently it was to identify who was Khidr (as) since he's allegedly not supposed to have a bone there (that's Barelwi evidence) and apparently, the Deobandi imam who told us this story was his way of saying that they are wrong and that no one alive at that time (mentioned in the Hadith) on the face of the earth was going to be alive thereafter, which can also mean that dajjal is a jin and Khidr (as) is no longer or possibly also a jin. Allahu alum.

Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar, who said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) led us in praying ‘Ishaa towards the end of his life. When he had said the salaam, he stood up and said: ‘Do you see this night of yours? One hundred years from now, there will not be anyone left of those who are on the face of the earth.’”.

Agreed upon: Dajjal and Khidr (AS) are both humans, lets discuss everything further

You are absolutely right and this is the narration from Saheeh Muslim which you are referring to:

Loading Hadeeth

  1. Imam Nawawi (RA) who is of the opinion that Khd'r (AS) is alive handles this in his commentary of Saheeh Muslim by saying that "Khid'r lives on water" and not on surface of Earth
  2. Secondly, if you take this Hadeeth on face value then how do you explain that Dajjal is still alive when Sayyiduna Tamim Dari (RA) met him in person? How come the same Hadeeth does not apply to Dajjal?

My issue is 2 in the light of the Hadeeth which you are presenting.

This a valid disagreement either way.

  1. IF you believe Khid'r (AS) has passed away then you have to believe that Dajjal has actual powers to give Life after death
  2. OR believe that the incident described in Hadeeth is some kind of stunt/illusion

IF you believe that Khid'r (AS) is still alive then it isn't Dajjal but his regenerative powers which will restore him back to life.

1. I don't believe that khidr (as) had died or is still alive, this will not affect my Aqeedah so I'm not too worried about that
2. I don't believe Dajjal has powers to give life as he will do this via jinns. An illusion.
3. I believe Tamim ad Daari saw him as narrated
4. I feel Dajjal is not of mankind, but of Jinn or any other living being. Many Hadith subliminally point to this.
5. I don't think khidr (as) will live for ever as Allah says, "Every soul share taste death" one can argue about when, that's another case.
6. Eesa (as) was and is still alive when that hadith was narrated, but we know that he is not on earth.
7. Something you could've picked up on too. Gog and Magog, if they are still alive, then there must be an explanation of them in light of the Hadith of the 100 years. Perhaps they are below sea level now, hence not in the face of earth.
8. Just like Eesa (as) who know if Khdir (as) is in a different realm (just speculating)
9. The number 100 could've been used like the way the number 7 is used, i.e. a figure of speech.

Allah knows best.
