What about people like myself who don't know anything about the mufti. To people like me this mufti is just another name. Seriuosly I just googled him to find out a bit more about him. Up until now to me he was just a name I have come across on this forum. I have never listened to anything he has said due to language differences. Do we owe anything to him? We are going to take his words at face value just like we would do with any other person we don't know. Should we have to go and research the background, affiliations, piety, truthfulness etc of each and every mufti that says something in order to try and read between the lines and to try and find some sort of justification of his words? To me he is just another person in a sea of people who has said something that on face value is at best absolutely laughable and at its worst is dangerous and misguidance.
