In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh
There are two strategies for naming your children and both are permissible, what are your thoughts.
Strategy 1:
Pick names which are the best in Sunnah regardless of culture and society.
- Abdur-Rahman
- Abdullah
- Amatullah
- Khadeeja
- Safiyya
Strategy 2:
Pick names which are permissible but also fit into the local (Non-Muslim) culture. You can change spellings but concepts are here with examples:
India:
- Amar
- Seema
West:
- Adam
- Daniel
- Sara
- Hannah
South Amrica:
- Adil
- Aisha
- Noor

Strategy 3:
Pick the hardest names possible to make your kids lives living hell... :P
- Muhammad Mutazallazaluz-Zaman Abdur-Rahmaan Ubaydullah Khan
- Muhammad Murasaleenur-Rahmaan Abdur-Rahmaan Ubaydullah Khan
- Amatullah Aishatun-Nisaa
