The argument put forth by those who wish to use the term “Deobandi” is that it is an affiliation used by graduates of (original DU Deoband) and any Darul-uloom (in the entire world) which was founded by or affiliated with the original DU Deoband.
In other words, the graduate of Khairul-Madaris (Multan, Pakistan) is a “Deobandi” because Khairul-Madaris (Multan, Pakistan) is affiliated with (original) DU Doeband.
This obviously DOES NOT answer the fundamental issue of a layman (who has never studied anywhere) to use the title “Deobandi” but let’s put that aside for the sake of your argument.
IF the issue was to use “Deobandi” in the context of original DU Deoband THEN your assertion would have been accurate BUT that is NOT what the other side is arguing about...
Discuss within the context of discussion and not throw random facts into the mix...
