I am waiting for the brother to enlighten us with his gained windom.

Anyone who has graduated from Government College University, Lahore are called Ravians so would Muhammad Zafarullah Khan (the famous Kaafir) would also be classed as a Ravian in his esteemed opinion?

And by all means, let me share the link and let him answer it:

Quote:
By Deoband, I mean the teachings of Deaband as were taught by authentic Deoband ulema in previous and current times. By Deoband I never meant the label of Deoband. I am neither a born Deobandi nor belong to a Deobandi family by the way.

This may be sending a different message to what you first said. Then surely there were other Ulama and communities prior to the akabir of Deoband who also had correct teachings, and even teachings different to the akabir of Deoband. People nowadays are free to stick to those teachings as well.

Regarding elders advising and censoring Maulana Tariq Jameel, then this is confusing to me because tablighis always say this work is for every single Muslim, and every single Muslim and Masjid should take part in tablighi activities and ijtimash, and Tabligh Jamat is not an organization or group etc. But on the other hand you want to restrict what Maulana Tariq Jameel involves himself because he is a so called 'tableeghi Alim'.

So on one hand all Muslims must take part in tableeghi activities, it is everyone's responsibility (this is the clear impression given, especially in ijtimahs and tashkeel) but on the other hand tableeghis shouldn't involve themselves in other activities . So who is left to take part in those other activities?

I myself don't really use the label Deoband (depending on who I'm talking to) I say I'm a Hanafi

Barelvis are also Hanafi. So why do you even call yourself Hanafi? Why not Muslim?

And btw one can be Hanafi only in fiqh, not in aqeeda.

Agreed sister. As I said, depends on who I'm talking to. Not everyone is aware of the different types of Deobandi's/Hanafi's etc.

If I were talking to non Muslim's then I never say i'm hanafi or Deobandi. Then I'm a Muslim.

There are different levels of people we meet, and in context of this thread and those situations, I will say Hanafi.

I meet people from all over the world which carry the label Hanafi. So when they know I'm a Hanafi, they can tell that either one of us is mistaken in our actions. This helps them research their knowledge and helps me understand the other differences and factions or it helps me rectify my way by confirming with authentic Ulama.

(Thread to be linked) Hanafi or Muslim.

EDIT:

Sorry, not thread. It's a blog post called Hanafi or Muhammadi. The original Blog by Seifeddine is no longer unfortunately.

I think your precise introduction would be:

Muslim, Sunni, Maturidi, Hanafi, Deobandi, Bartanwee, Londoni, abu mohammed

Which would be different to xs11ax who is:

Muslim, Sunni, Ashari, Hanafi, Deobandi, Bartanwee, Yourkshiri, xs11ax

Which would be different to Dr76 who is:

Muslim, Sunni, Ashari, Shaf'ae, Deobandi, Hindi, Khaleeji, Dr76
