I have by the help of Allah been successful to remove TV from my home and Alhamdulillah my wife is co operative and she understands it's harm. We have also decided firmly that we will not allow our kids to play video games. Mobiles will also be allowed at mature age.

I would also advise others to not allow their kids to play video games whether online or offline. Trust me. Your kids need your company more than toys or video games or movies etc. You give them time and they have no excuse to look here or there. Respect them, love them and be gentle and enjoy with them common activities and insha Allah they will get the spiritual upliftment which they try to find in these stupid activities. I myself have too much in queue to read and do. Seriously, do we have much time for this non sense? Using this forum and helping each other in learning the deen should make us smart and not dumber than before. What is the use of reading books and listening to lectures if we are to follow the lead of non practicing Muslims and kuffar? Was all that effort for only memorizing statements without meaning? Has this much effort not helped a bit in developing our INTELLECT? Are we sheep or what?

This is also what I was hinting at in my earlier post on this thread.

alhamdulillah following the advice of the people on here the desire i had for them games has gone. i ended up downloading it and since only played it the once. i guess it was just me reminsing over my school days memeories when i used to play age of empires. iv had a ps4 since 2016 and its been sitting there collecting dust for over 3 years now. i keep telling myself one day il play it but just never really get the time to do so, which i guess is a blessing.
