or maybe they are already there, fatigued, covered in dust, battle wounded, but we dont recognise them as we were expecting someone with a big white amamah, pristine white kurtah, spinning a tasbih in his hands?

Tried that,pressed award reps,nothing happened...
Anyway,I prayed for the respected brother as he wished. Such concepts have become rare,we have forgotten the value of JIHAD BIL SAIF and the honours bestowed upon Mujahideen by Allah SWT.

I am not a scholar, but probably they are not mentioned in Sihah...

There are Ahadeeth about Abdal, some scholars call them daief because the chains are broken, some call the whole concept of Abdal correct because the same thing is mentioned through multiple chains hence making it ‘acceptable :

Hadith:

“Shuraih – i.e., bin Ubaid said: The people of Syria were mentioned in the presence of Ali Bin Abi Talib (rd) when he was in Iraq. They said: Curse them, O Ameer al-Mu’mineen. He said: No; I heard the Messenger of Allah (sal allahu alehi wasalam) say: “The Abdal (Saints, sages, who are close to Allah) will be in Syria, and they will be forty men. Every time one of them dies, Allah will replace him with another man. By virtue of them rain is sent and through them victory is achieved against the enemy and punishment is warded off from the people of Syria.”

(This hadith is been recorded in :
Jamey ul Masaneed wal Sunnan by Hafidh ibne Kathir
Imam ahmed also recorded it in Musnad Ahmed
Tabrani, also recorded it along with many other imams. )

No less than Ibn Taymiyya writes at the end of his `Aqida wasitiyya:

“The true adherents of Islam in its pristine purity are Ahl al-Sunnat wal-Jamaa. In their ranks the truthful saints (siddiqin), the martyrs, and the righteous are to be found. Among them are the great men of guidance and illumination, of recorded integrity and celebrated virtue. The Substitutes (abdal) and the Imams of religion are to be found among them and the Muslims are in full accord concerning their guidance. These are the Victorious Group about whom the Prophet said: “A group within my Community manifestly continues to be in the truth. Neither those who oppose them nor those who abandon them can do them harm, from now on until the Day of Resurrection.” [Ibn Taymiyya, Aqida wasitiyya (Salafiyya edition) p. 36.]

Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal says in his Musnad (1:112):

… The people of Syria were mentioned in front of Ali ibn Abi Talib while he was in Iraq, and they said: “Curse them, O Commander of the Believers.” He replied: “No, I heard the Messenger of Allah say: “The Substitutes (al-abdal) are in Syria and they are forty men, every time one of them dies, Allah substitutes another in his place. By means of them Allah brings down the rain, gives (Muslims) victory over their enemies, and averts punishment from the people of Syria.” ” al-Haythami said: “The men in its chains are all those of the sahih except for Sharih ibn `Ubayd, and he is trustworthy (thiqa).”[That is: this is a sound (sahih) hadith.]

Tabarani said in his Mu`jam al-awsat:

Anas said that the Prophet said: “The earth will never lack forty men similar to the Friend of the Merciful [Prophet Ibrahim], and through them people receive rain and are given help. None of them dies except Allah substitutes another in his place.”

Ibn Hibban narrates it in al-Tarikh through Abu Hurayra as:

“The earth will never lack forty men similar to Ibrahim the Friend of the Merciful, and through whom you are helped, receive your sustenance, and receive rain.”

Abu Dawud through three different good chains in his Sunan (English #4273), Imam Ahmad in his Musnad (6:316), Ibn Abi Shayba in his Musannaf, Abu Ya`la, al-Hakim, and Bayhaqi narrated:

Umm Salama the wife of the Prophet said: “Disagreement will occur at the death of a Caliph and a man of the people of Madina will come forth flying to Mecca. Some of the people of Mecca will come to him, bring him out against his will and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. An expeditionary force will then be sent against him from Syria but will be swallowed up in the desert between Mecca and Madina, and when the people see that, the Substitutes (abdal) of Syria and the best people (asaba) of Iraq will come to him and swear allegiance to him…”

So not EXACTLY a myth, scholars should be able to shed some more light on the subject....

Meaning of Idlib

What is the meaning of Idlib? It is pretty significant. A Facebook friend has posted, in Urdu script, that we are about to witness a massive massacre of Muslims there and yet the world, including Muslims, will celebrate. he also said that he can not say more because that will inflame the feelings of too many people. Daesh is Khawarij and it is difficult to cry at the defeat of Khawarij forces. Yet the nature of evil is such that it hurts you even when purportedly it is working for your cause. We will be left licking our own wounds and we shall be left with task of figuring out how to set those things right that they set wrong in an attempt to set our things right.

Idlib May fall like Aleppo did...and like so many other cities fell to the forces allied to Bashar. For how long can one stand aerial bombardment and land assaults while one does not have food to eat and time to sleep, when innocents are being slaughtered in front of one,s eyes and can’t be buried, when the stench of death is all around and there is no way to avoid it,when the buildings are falling and crashing and dust chokes one,s lungs....and when one look around and find no one ‘truely’ supportive, their eyes returning back to them with the grim realisation that they were perhaps the last batch of ‘spendable soldiers’ of a lost cause :(

So,Idlib will fall, but is that the end of it? Syria will be whole again, reconstruction started, refugees returning home,Bashar fully entrenched in power,HAPPY ENDINGS...???

One by one those countries who could resist “greater Israel” are reduced to rubbles, their armies and their economies destroyed, their infrastructure in ruins.Iraq,Syria,Libya, one by one, systematically and effectively taken out of the way.Who else is left with a little bit of fighting capabilities in the region?. Pakistan is away from the major war theatre and deeply buried under debts, the agenda for political and economic destabilisation of Turkey is already in place,Iran is economically collapsing or is already collapsed (even if it was not a fifth column in our ranks- which undoubtedly it is).Who is left before Israel decides to start its ‘walk over’ ? KSA and Egypt..

Such wars never end without achieving its objectives. New ‘spendable soldiers’ will be created and launched, the land will be different, the target will be different, the objective will remain the same : “Making the ultimate strategic and military victory for Israel as easy as possible” by removing every conceivable obstacle from their path, making it a WALK OVER for them.

Actually not...not under the regime of Hafiz AlAsad or Bashar...

I don’t want to mention conspiracy theories otherwise one could mention the rumours that Hafiz AlAsad himself was responsible for surrendering GOLAN HEIGHTS to Israel as defence minister.

So not the Baathist regime but the state and its people could offer resistance, there were good soldiers in Syrian army who joined the resistance against Bashar and could resist Israel too,to some degree...

Things have changed in many ways now :(

There is an interesting concept in Jews about year 6000 of Hebrew calendar, by that year the Messianic age MUST start. It can be earlier than the deadline but NOT later...

It is already year 5778(2017-18)

Year 6000 of Jewish calendar will fall on 16 September 2240 according to the Gregorian calendar.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_6000

I don’t know how seriously Israel takes it... it is only an interesting topic for casual reading.
