Imran Khan has received his 3rd conviction of the week. This one is claiming that Imran Khan and his wife Married before her Iddat period had been completed after her divorce.
The court has declared the marriage null and void and given 7 year sentence to him and his wife.

This is turning out to be a mother of all witch-hunts, he has been tried in Jail for these cases. Has not been allowed legal representation to cross examine witnesses, has not been allowed to bring any witnesses of his own.

Unbelievable that the court has declared the Nikkah un-Islamic. This is the extent that the faasiq military and corrupt judges have fallen. And the ulema are silent. The entire argument for ulema's silence has been that at the very least the ruling elite is not interfering with Shariah, at least the people are allowed to practice their deen. Now however, things are rapidly heading towards the point where the elite are starting to introduce laws and practices against the Shariah. Yet the ulema are happy to watch from the sidelines, content in whatever paradise they are living in.

Mufti Saeed claims that Nikah solemnised twice in 2018

Mufti Saeed, who solemnized the marriage of the former premier, recorded his statement before a local court in the federal capital. He claimed that Imran contacted him over the phone, asking him to solemnize his marriage with Bushra Bibi.

Saeed said he asked Bushra Bibi’s sister if Nikah could be solemnized as per Shariah and the latter’s responded positively.

He then confirmed that first Nikah was illegal which had been solemnised based on the prediction. Bushra Bibi divorced her first husband in November 2017 and tied the knot again in January 2018 – without completing the Iddat period.

Mufti said Imran Khan contacted him again a month later, requesting him to solemnize nikah for the second time with Bushra Bibi, saying her iddat was not completed at the time of the Nikah.

So the Nikah case is a valid one. What a foolish thing to do.

The Mufti did validate it later, didn't he? There's no case then. How can a judge declare the nikkah invalid? This isn't a constitutional matter, it's a Sharai one.

I just read the first 12 pages of this thread, makes interesting reading the question is did Imran Khan bring in any domestic policies that were of benefit?

Those of us who have grown up and live in the west support him on his anti-colonial rhetoric and his willingness to speak out unapologetically to American and European governments and expose their colonial hypocrisy. I suppose it is what ultimately led to his downfall.

But what exactly did he accomplish for Pakistan during his tenure?

The economic growth was definitely better than the previous regime and also better than the subsequent regime of Shahbaz Sharif. There are official figures for that. And overall the outlook was positive. The one obvious problem was that the laws against corruption couldn't be enforced since the entire system is controlled by the military and the root of corruption in Pakistan is military. They would never allow the feudal nature of Pakistan's politics and elites to be harmed since they benefit the most from it.

Either way the public doesn't care what the faasiq military says. They just don't want Nawaz Sharif for a 4th stint or the possibly homosexual Bilawal. And they have their heart set on Imran Khan. And since the military and elites have been peddling the drama of democracy since day one to the West, the public wants that democracy to be truly enacted. That is, give the public who they want not who the elites want.

You are clearly out of touch with what's happening in Pakistan. Most people outside of Pakistan with no relatives here are out of touch.

No one is busy blaming Modi here. Infact, no one cares now what India is doing. Even if India were to conduct airstrikes in Pakistan again, people of Pakistan will be blaming the military here. The military, the judiciary and the politicians have been completely stripped naked here. We are barely registering what is happening elsewhere in the world, let alone blaming anyone. Pakistanis are infact now apologizing to the Bangladeshis for not believing them when they talked about what really happened in 1971.

This is the situation on ground here.

By what metrics do you feel the economic growth was better? When I landed in Karachi in 2019 it was 1 CAD to 118 and now its at 206.

The vast majority of Madrisah students and Teachers dislike Imran Khan with a passion. Patel Para next to me is in a mix but the people I have come across are rarely Imran Khan supporters. Maybe cause of the demographic of people I choose to associate with. Spent some time in RawalPindi and Islamabad and the average worker hated Imran Khan.

It's not my feeling about the metrics that I am relaying rather the official figures that were all over mainstream media as well as social media. These figures came out during Shahbaz Sharif's regime. As far as the exchange rate goes the major damage was done during Shahbaz's tenure the consequences of which you are seeing even now.

Towards the end of IK's regime infact Pak was headed towards lower petroleum prices because of his deal with Putin for cheaper gas from Russia. But that never materialized because he was removed from power. These are undeniable facts that can be verified from anywhere.

As for the hatred that you experienced that is true for when Imran Khan was in power. Despite experts explaining the damage that had been done previously would take some time to be undone by IK and his team, the people of Pakistan were very unhappy with the inflation happening then. However, once he was removed from power, and when people saw the disastrous turn that the inflation took, people realized that while they didn't like what was happening then, they disliked the new regime even more. The popularity figures of Imran Khan that you are seeing right now happened only after he was removed. His popularity has sky rocketed since then because his narrative was stronger and more realistic for the public. So now you will find a different outlook in the majority of the people of Pakistan where for the first time they have realized how the military has been fooling them all these years.

I went to Pakistan in 2022 for about three weeks, just two days before I was due to return to the U.K. Imran Khan was removed from power. The impression I had was that had free and fair elections been held at that time IK would have most likely lost. People were only concerned with the fact that during Khan's tenure the prices of everyday goods had skyrocketed. Fast forward a year later the tide had completely turned the Shabazz Sharif unity government was even more disastrous in terms of inflation.

That was a major tactical blunder from the Establishment, in removing Khan from power it backfired spectacularly. Hence the witch-hunt.

I presume the Establishment will be offering Khan a deal, to feign illness and pretend you need medical treatment abroad in order to exile him. I don't think Khan will accept exile like, Benazir, the Sharif's, and Musharaf. So I presume he will die of so called "natural causes" behind bars, with a little help from the Establishment. Don't think he survives.

Yes, he has already been offered multiple times and multiple options like stay out of politics for 3 years (till Asim Munir can get his extension), hand over party to someone else, even a relative, etc. He has refused all offers for a "deal".

Yes, it's true that the most likely outcome of all of this will be his death, but IMO, he has done what a person like him can do. Completely exposed the criminal mafia that is the Pakistan military. To be able to do something about it is now the responsibility of the Pakistani public and maybe some leader who is actually gonna realize that this has to be a war not an election that will get Pakistan out of the mess.

This cause of Imran Khan's is a lot bigger than just selecting the next Prime Minister. It's for releasing Pakistan from the clutches of the elites and the faasiq military cabal.

The complaint was filed by Bibi's ex-husband, who said her marriage with Khan had been fraudulent.

The court has deemed the first nikah in January 2018 to be invalid and the second nikah in February 2018 as valid.

It seems strange why an ex-husband cares about who his ex-wife marries next and when it happens. If the ex-wife has their kids and marries someone who isn't a good person, the ex-husband might want to get full custody of the kids to make sure they are okay.
