The only Muslim leader to categorically state on 14th of of August 2020:

Pakistan will NEVER discuss accepting the state of Israel until the Palestinian issue is resolved.

Forcing even Saudi Arabia to issue a half statement about Palestinians.

Complete silence from the Deobandees who have been calling him a "Zionist Agent".

I know that a "statement" means nothing but we haven't even had a statement from any other leader.

P.S: Watch people change the subject and discuss XYZ :)

This was as expected. We heard broadcast to nation of both Indian PM and Pakistani PM. Their action plan for the pandemic.

Analysis on BBC urdu

Life in Pakistan is now returning to normal and the last partial lockdown restrictions are being lifted.

After the deaths of about 6,000 people out of 230 million, it can be said that Pakistan has apparently outperformed many Western countries in this regard. In the UK, for example, there have been more than 41,000 deaths among 67 million people. In neighboring India, the situation is even worse in cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

Pakistan's success has come despite repeated opposition to lockdown measures by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The Prime Minister kept saying that the lockdown would spread hunger and poverty in the country.

Pakistan puzzles health experts as coronavirus cases drop

Following an initial surge in novel coronavirus cases, the number of infections in Pakistan has plummeted in recent weeks, with Covid-19 deaths hovering in the single digits each day. "No one has been able to explain this decline," said a doctor in Lahore.

"Regardless of the reasons, the good thing is the first wave of the virus is almost over in Pakistan," said Khizer Hayat, a doctor at Nishtar hospital in the central city of Multan.

"The situation is now under control and the number of coronavirus cases is dropping, the wards are emptying. It's hard to know why."
Over the weekend, India set a new global record for the highest number of daily cases, with 78,761 new infections recorded in 24 hours, though Delhi is testing at a far higher rate than Islamabad.

India has also reported more than 64,000 deaths -- the third-highest globally after the United States and Brazil.

Since recording its first case in late February, Pakistan has responded in fits and bursts to the pandemic, rolling out loose lockdowns that were later reversed, while crowds shunned social distancing guidelines and continued to flock to markets and mosques.

Still, the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan has been quick to bask in the progress, crediting itself with "smart" lockdown policies and other measures, even though these were often not enforced.

Last month, Pakistani authorities lifted most of the country's remaining coronavirus restrictions after new cases dropped for several weeks.

Restaurants and parks have reopened while people have flocked to theatres, malls, and crowded back onto public transport. Schools and universities are set to reopen later in September.

Masks have become an increasingly rare sight, spurring warnings from experts for the public to remain vigilant over fears of a second wave.

Can someone confirm this...

My in-laws were stuck in Islamabad at the height of the pandemic. They told me that if anyone had covid symptoms then the whole street or neighbourhood was quarantined to stop the spread.

Two exactly opposite systems in two neighbor countries.

One PM cares for his citizens, builds a multi crore cancer hospital from his own funds, take decisions inclusive and consultation. He is appreciated by a maulana who takes out his pagri (turban) and cries profusely and makes dua, brings tears in whoever watches it (He may not be a mustajabad-dua, but it demonstrates, he has concern and pain for ummah). Their PM has support from intellects and senior ulema. Moreover the common man thinks that their PM cares for them, and they are right.

In India it is exactly opposite.

But in India, the Hindus would argue the same for themselves no?

Or are the Hindus neglected by the Hindu government?

Except in Pakistan, charities and people stepped in and made sure that nobody died of hunger. This is people and ordinary Muslims and not the Government.

Every TV channel in Pakistan was talking about Ahadeeth of Nabi (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) about neighbours.

Hindus do not have the sort of charitable outlook in life and neither is there any such thing as rights of neighbours in Islam, like Muslims.

What saved humanitarian disaster in Pakistan during COVID-19 is Islam and not Imran Khan.

Here in India also, it was the common people, a lot of Muslims and Sikhs among them, who spent their own money to feed people who were rendered destitute by the stringent lockdown. This Ramadan we had many 'liberal' Muslims organizing teams and going door to door to feed the poor and needy.

Mashallah. In Bradford, from what I saw, most of the people helping out were Muslims. Alhamdulillah it's in the nature of a Muslim.

Sarbarah bhi apna asar chhodta hai. Ruler has his affect. He himself has set an example by establishing a charity hospital for cancer and managing it. Hamara wazeer e azam, Corporate ki jeb bhar raha hai. Aur coporate party ko chandah de rahi hai.

Absolutely.

Indian Muslims should be praised as despite all the discrimination and oppression they have not lost their humanity and their Islam.

Indian Muslims deserve credit.
