This move by the government sets their future direction. It is hard to say if it is out of genuine concern for the establishment of the 'rule of law' in the country or there is some deep liberal agenda behind it.I think,it is none of the above. It is simply because Maulana dared challenge the powerful armed forces of the country by giving a call to the 'jawans' of Pakistan army for 'revolt' against their officers.(He thinks some of them are Qadiani sympathisers).IK is only acting as a proxy here...
Our own liking and disliking apart,'technically' it is treason against the state to incite 'mutiny',and that is what he is booked for...
Well, technically our country is founded based on principles of Shariah; our constitution is based on Shariah, especially the clauses that relate to this specific cause that TLP was rising up for. Anyone who goes against the constitution is the one actually committing treason and the way I see it, the one who is calling for mutiny against the treasonous elite is the true nationalist.
I tend to agree with you,but our mutual agreement does not change ground realities. Might is right and will remain right for as long as the situation remains the same.At the moment, the law applies to him while it ignores other crimes you mentioned :(
They are just following in the footsteps of Musharraf. Fawad Chowdhary had threatened just like the dictator: "tumhain hum wahan se uthayenge, tumhe pata hi nahi chalega hum ne tumhe kahan se uthaya hai". And he has actually done it.
Khan Sahab himself has forgotten how many laws he had broken in his dharna in 'Old Pakistan'.
Well, the only reason Fawad Chaudhary can make such statements is because he's backed by those who are truly in power. The ones all of us know about. They are the ones with the actual power to pull of such arrests. Not cowards like Fawad Chaudhary who, along with his glorious leader, is just as powerless as the rest of the politicians of this country.
How long will this farce continue? Ya Allah, please raise a Salahuddin Ayubi from among us to help our ulema overcome these enemies of Islam.
JazakAllah khairan,it was intended only for your eyes and fod1083, most of the members here are from outside Pakistan and may not need such cautions....
Don't worry I am not on any of the other online platforms like Facebook or Twitter and I certainly am not one to announce my intentions to the world before doing something. ;)
I doubt that the government has anything to do with the murder of Maulana Sami ul Haq Rh. I believe that behind this murder are the hands of those who wanted a civil war in Pakistan and wanted to pit Deobandi against Barelvi and people against government.
Maybe this will unite Deobandi and Barelvi. Maulana could have gotten more support if he would have avoided using abusive language and if TLP workers would have avoided "violence" in their otherwise morally and religiously correct protests.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
