ILWIR. Had first heard about him from his mureed mufti syed adnan kakakhel.

This what mufti abdur rehman mangera had to say on X

"Spectacular images of the Khanaqah Dar al-Iman at Karbogha Sharif, KPK Pakistan. It is in the middle of a valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. The sound of dhikr rings through the clean air. About 300 people are in residence on any given day, up to 100k people on holidays".

Operation Khilafa

In 1995, Major General Zahirul Islam Abbasi and Brigadier Mustansir Billah tried to overthrow Government in Pakistan and establish Khilafah, they were connected with two Deobandi Mashaykh:

  • Mufti Sufi Iqbal (RA)
  • Mufti Syed Mukhtaruddin Shah (RA)

Both Khulafa of Shaykhul-Hadeeth Maulana Zakariyya Kandhlawi (RA)

The case primarily focused on Mufti Sufi Iqbal (RA) but deliberately ignored Mufti Syed Mukhtaruddin Shah (RA) because it was felt that dragging him into the trial would destabilize the tribal belt on both sides of the border and agitate the Pushtun population and therefore history is silent on the role of Mufti Syed Mukhtaruddin Shah (RA) in trying to establish Khilafah in Pakistan via overthrowing the Pakistani military leadership.

However, the military ensured that he was confined to the Khanqah and heavily monitored until he passed away in 2025.

The Deobandees of Pakistan are largely kept ignorant of these matters with Maulana Fazlur-Rahman even claiming to be a bigger "Peer" then Mufti Syed Mukhtaruddin Shah (RA)

Brigadier Mustansir Billah briefly had a YouTube channel but doesn't post much.

Almost all woman think like you and almost all of them are wrong and here is why. After spending decades in Tasawuff around many Mashaykh around the world, here is my personal opinion which others can disagree with.

A person become Bay’t to a Shaykh, do the Dhik’r diligently and follow everything but will never advance in Sulook unless you build personal, family, friendly relationship with the Shaykh and do Mushwara about everything in your life (your job, business, income, kids, house, trade etc).

You can just cruise for the rest of your life and just do what is necessary and you will stay where you are.

When you get close to the Shaykh, you discover that it is a doggy-dog’s world out there, you will be the victim of spite, jealousy and all sorts of evil machinations and it will extend to your wife, your kids, family etc. This is the reality of Tasawuff because the (existing) Mureeds feel hugely jealous of you and try to undermine you at every step.

Just doing Hajj with your Shaykh is not easy because:

1. If you try to do your own thing and give Shaykh space (respecting his time) you will be called out by the Shaykh
2. If you try to force yourself then you will be antagonizing the other Mureeds and they will scheme against you.

This is true and doesn’t matter if your Silsila is Pakistani, Indian or American!

Lastly, when you actually need advice from a Shaykh it usually takes so long for a response that either the issue is no longer an issue or urgency has passed.

So, follow the mainstream Ulama, connect with a Shaykh (if you need it), do your Dhikr and live your life, you are not missing anything at all.

There are millions of Muslims before and now who were never in Tasawuff and seem to have survived this world and met Allah Ta’ala and acted upon the Sunnah to the best of their ability.

For the past few decades, due to RAND corporation propaganda and Turkish TV dramas it has become fashion.

Secondly, Muslims of India/Pakistan/Bangladesh/Afghanistan/Tukiye/Uzbekistan/Iran/Russia etc are predisposed to Tasawuff because it is in their culture and their DNA. We are into mysterious, enchanting experiences etc as it is in our blood.

Throughout Islamic history, Muslims stayed close to a “Scholar” and took advice or studied but the “SilSilas” as we know today are a later addition to Islam. I am not saying that they are wrong or Haram because great scholars of Islam were part of Silsilas but then great scholars of Islam were not!

Silsilas are a formal development and evolution like many other fields within Islam. Allah Ta'ala has created people differently and for some Silsilas help them, other Tableeghi Jamaat may help them, others Mufti Mangera (on YouTube) may help them to follow Sunnah etc.

For example, Imam Abu Haneefa (RA) neither had a formal Shaykh nor part of Silsila nor had any daily set Adhkaar which he routinely did.

Anyone reading above and wants to contradict me, please feel free but provide primary evidence.

In my opinion, what everyone needs is access to Ulama whom they can freely discuss matters and even question things which they don't understand and for that choose the pious Ulama and do your research.
