In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh (Peace, Blessings & Mercy of Allah be upon You).

Wifaqul Ulama would like to remind the Muslims that there are only 6 days left for to register to vote. It is important for Muslims to participate in the election process and use their vote for the betterment of their communities.

If you don't vote, you won't have a say. If you don't have a say, don't complain or give others a headache on social media about what's right and what's not.

No vote means no say, no say means, zip it :)

Vote and have the right to speak up, then you are welcome to unzip and speak.

U should go and learn to read before making silly replies. I want labour to win and I'm in a safe labour seat so I dnt need to vote. Understand????

Lol, and what if labour lost by one vote?

I know what I read and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a silly reply.

Therefore.....Ditto to you brother!

Even if your party does win (or lose), it doesn't give you the right to speak up.

To say non-voters don't have the right to speak is lame and propaganda.

Their are two extremes; those who say it is fardh and those who deem it shirk.

In order to raise the problems of the Muslim community the votes from said community need to be collective not scattered. Of course if the aim is only to have your voice heard then go for whomsoever. But I find it ridiculous to hear the voting police scrutinise every non-voter. After all it is probably due to the fact there is no one representing their view.

My personal opinion, to have the voice of our community heard lets collectively vote for a party so we can influence policy otherwise till then I am gonna vote for labour because it is the best choice for the working class. But lets not get carried away its just a vote for some fat cats with black suits. We are not voting for policies just people who will sway on their promises just to get their seat.

My point was not in regards to voting being fardh or shirk!

The brother wants labour to win, but he's so confident that in his area, they will win. What if they don't?

I want Corbyn to win too, but it would be silly of me to vote for him or not to vote for him believing that it won't make a difference!

I asked the ulama to point us in the right direction, so we can make our decision based on what is in the best interest of our deen and not necessarily our pocket. I'm not an expert in politics like many of us here, but every little helps.

I agree with your last paragraph :)
