look can someone explain why on this occasion we cant accept saudia or malaysia? if in 10 mins south africa says they seen then wifaqul be jumping up and down saying ramadan too. im sorry but i been a stauch follower of wifaqul but im begining to think they just as bad as the blind saudi followers. was it impossible for saudi to spot the moon? if not why not accept? do we only acccept mass sighting?

Simple answer is:

Saudi Ulama themselves have said that the sightings are not valid for the UK because of our geographical position.

However, these madkhalis and salafis don't follow this rule at all, they follow the TV.

Malaysia, how can we accept a ruling from a country from the other corner of the world?

The rules state that the moon must be sighted! Here, we have more of the sun than the moon at this time of the year, here the moon has to be above the horizon after Maghrib for it to be counted and SEEN, and even if it is above the horizon, otherwise if the moon sets before the sun or almost at the same time, then we've moved into another day of the same month, not the new month.

Try to use apps and see where the moon is in real time, then follow ita track to see if we will be able to sight it or not, but remember, these apps are just guides and cannot be used to fulfillt he Sunnah of a sighting without sighting it.

When your ‪#‎Mosque‬ and TV Channel announce the start of Ramadhan before Asar or imports news of Moonsighting from overseas without even looking, the following Authentic Hadeeth cannot be practised!

Talhah bin Ubaidullah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: At the sight of the new moon (of the lunar month), the Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate: "Allahumma ahillahu 'alaina bil-amni wal-iman, was-salamati wal-Islam, Rabbi wa Rabbuk-Allah, Hilalu rushdin wa khairin (O Allah, let this moon appear on us with security and Iman; with safety and Islam. (O moon!) Your Rubb and mine is Allah. May this moon be bringing guidance and good)." [At- Tirmidhi].

IF and its a big IF saudi had multiple sightin then should it be ok? Also it seems weird why so many different countries will year in year out make false announcments. Fair enough i know saudi use their pre calculted ones but turkey indonsia malaysia??? Are all makin false claims? If they did see it why shouldnt we follow when i thought wifaqul accpeted anyone east of UK. South africa is not exactly close to us yet we follow them. Maybe i need to re read wifaquls criteria as i was under the impression it had two conditions

1) must be to our east
2) must be mass sighting especially if charts show little or no possibilities of moon being sighted.

Now fully agree with this. I know in saudi its always a dessert bedoiin who sees it for them but im sure malaysia n indonisia are more stringent
