You bringing Maulana Mawdoodi and Dr Israr Ahmed along with Dr Zakir Naik into this thread is frankly bizarre they bare no direction correlation the issues concerning them are seperate.

On the other hand Maulana Tariq Jameel(DB) being Junaid Jamsheds direct mentor does.Perhaps you would be better served in raising your objections with him.

The deobandis should have never sided with the barelwis regarding Mumtaz Qadri. The issue was vague and unclear and he only talked about the abuse of the blasphemy law which is a reality.

Every attack on a deobandi now is justified under the disguise of "gustakhe rasul".

Maulana Maududi and Junaid can not be compared.

One has an incorrect aqeedah (fisq in aqeedah), and other one has a correct aqeedah but does commit haram actions (fisq in aa'maal). Both can not be compared.

Although I do buy the argument, that deobandis would bash a non-deobandi for just 10% of what a deobandi does, but they still can not be compared. Allah knows best.

Point 1:

The mention of Maulana Maududi (RA), Dr Zakir Naik & Dr Israr Ahmed (RA) are brought in as comparison and Alhumdolillah you agree with the comparative point and get what I am saying.

Point 2:

What I also said is that TODAY (2016) the reach of JJ is far greater than Maulana Maududi (RA) [again in 2016 and not in his prime]...Therefore his refutation or at least distancing of Deobandees (from him) is necessary.

Point 3:

The issues with Maulana Maududi (RA) and disagreement with Deoandees is NO WAY an issue of Aqeedah with Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jam’aah at all! Aqeedah of Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jam’aah is clearly highlighted by Salaf and differences over Khilafah, Taqleed, Tassawuff are only issues of Aqeedah in the minds of the Deobandees.

The issue with Dr Zakir Naik is primarily over Taqleed vs Taqleed Shaksi, again neither an issue of Aqeedah nor makes someone a Kaafir. Although Dr Zakir Naik has Salafi Aqeedah but most Deobandees don’t raise this as an issue but his disregard of Taqleed Shaksi is what gets under their skin. This approach in itself is childish because of course Aqeedah of Dr Zakir Naik is a much bigger issue.

Agreed with whatever you said except one thing. I believe there are differences in aqeedah (and not just taqleed e shakhsi or tasawwuf, etc) between Maududi Sahab and Sunnis/Deobandis. We agree to disagree on it. :)

Have you actually listened to this a few times? To those who don't understand Urdu here is a Summary:

  1. Ulama who are stalwarts of knowledge like Shaykh (Mufti) Taqi Usmani (HA) et al havn't raised any objections.
  2. Those who have problems in their hearts make a mountain out of a molehill to the extent JJ will say "I was better when I was playing Music"....
  3. I may be wrong but in another speech Mufti Tariq says that he has neither watched the original episode nore the apology on the screen...I may be wrong but someone can correct me.

Irrespective of the incident with JJ mentioned here,Barelvi Hazraat should first condemn their "Ala Hazrat" for what he wrote about Ummul momineen Syedea Ayesha رضى الله عنها in a poem (Reference :Hadaeq e bakhshish part 3 page 37).

archive.org/stream/FazilBarelviKayKirdarONazriyatKaMukhta...

It is part of an Urdu poem but I don't have the courage to post it here or translate it into English.

What Junaid Jamshed said was nothing in comparison.

All of us have been living with the assumption that our Ulama will take a lead in solving our worldly problems.
This is especially so for those of us who do not belong to the Deeniyat stream yet hold Ulama in high regard.
Till now it has been the case with me but for sometime I have been having second thoughts.
Ulama do not expect us to solve their Deeniyat problems, nay they are voceferously against it.

Secondly if we remember the three levels of Faith, (1) Stop the wrong being perpetrated by force (2) Speak against it (3) Condemn it in your heart, then we realize that the same facility is available to Ulama too. For example they can not even issue a Fatwa for stoning to death of a rapist in India, let alone implent it physically. How can we insist that the Ulama act at the highest level of Faith when we know that even the most courageous of believers are simply silent.

There is a third aspect too. I explicitly remember four different people who advised me not to indulge too much in the problems of Islam and Muslims. Why? Academically the problem is too difficult. This is what they are implying. They are cunning enough not to accept their inability and helplessness - they simply put it on my abilities. I can not be nasty about them even in absentia for they are friends and well wishers otherwise. But the fact remains that even excellent academicians fear to tread upon these issues. And I am talking about secular academicia.

So why should we be so tough on our theological academicia and expect them to be some sort of an army of supermen who will take on all the worldly forces and steer the ship of Islam and Muslims in these extremely difficult times?

When a Barelwi slaps you then either you do slap him back or simply do not cry 'Mamma"! If they forcefully snatch away a mosque from you then you either take it back by force or do not cry "Mamma"! Let us not over intellectualize problems. Even in Jama-at the Dar-ul-Uloom has a Fatwa against Men and Women combined Jama-ats but we have been practicing that very regulalrly. We do not bring Dar-ul-Uloom into picture there.

Rasoolallah (SAW)'s legacy is a mighty one. I doubt that we have the capacity to incorporate all of the facets of his life into ours. Ibn-e-Taimiyyah (RA) happened to be the only one with high scholarship who took to the battle field. Even Imam-e-Rabbani Mujaddid-e-Alf-e-Thani Shaikh Ahmed Sirhindi (RA) resorted to academic upfrontry only - no armed struggle.

Let us take care of our social, cultural, scientific, technological, security, business, industrial, economic, commercial, financial and political interersts ourselves. Without putting the Ulama into a fix and a bind and a tight corner.

Isn't it strange coming from you ?

•Use of force to implement Sharia is for the government of the day only

• use of words is for Uluma

• dislike for sins or corrupt practices is for all..but specially the poor commoners who neither have force nor enough knowledge at their disposal.

It is the duty of Uluma to guide us about what shria says about any particular issue. It is the job of 'khalifa' ( if any) to implement their recommendations. Nobody is holding Uluma responsible for 'the implementation' part of it but what about the guidance ?

It is hardly an excuse that one scholar can not be a master of all the sciences. They can easily put up a panel of experts in every field, give them guidelines and find an answer to all the issues. It is a different thing all together that we are scared of the word 'ejtehad'.

The comparison of Imamam Ibne Taymia RA and Shaikh Ahmad Sarhindi RA is again surprising. Ibne taymia RA fought against Mongoles invasion while Shaikh Ahmad was fighting against 'FASAD OF AQEEDA' while trying to preserve the MUSLIM RULE in India all the while. Any internal revolt would have severely weakened the state against Kuffar,a situation which he and his followers wanted to avoid.

I understand your concern though, but the solution is reform. Absolving Uluma from their duties will solve no problems. We will keep looking towards them for guidance :-

The part of your post which I personally agree with is that Muslims have become complacent and we expect others to do our bidding for us. We expect everybody else including Ulama to do our part for us. Our communities are crippled and they expect Ulama to do everything and over-depend on them.

Each and every one of us need to stand up and do our jobs and not over-rely on Ulama

Junaid Jamshed has forgiven the men who attacked him at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad last month.

Jamshed announced his decision on Twitter with a prayer, “may Allah give us the strength to love and respect each other.”

He further tweeted calling for mutual respect and harmony; “Let us all love and respect each other irrespective of our ideologies and make Pakistan a safe haven for everyone.”

Police earelier identified Jamshed’s attackers and a case was been registered against them.

One of the men who attacked Junaid Jamshed at the Islamabad airport last month had been arrested from Karachi's PECHS neighbourhood.

Zainulabideen was arrested by a team of policemen who had arrived from Islamabad.
