In a nutshell, Wifaqul Ulama recommends that you think of your interactions on Social media and in the online world (including messaging apps) to be physical and personal interactions. Many Muslims are misled by the cloak of anonymity used online and they let down their guard enabling Shaytaan to pounce upon them. If you think of your interactions as “physical” and take the same precautions as you normally would in a real world, you may (Insha’Allah) be protected against the various dangers of online interaction.
