Halkların Demokratik Partisi (HDP):

This is a left leaning Socialist (Secular Party) which is Pro-Kurds and accuses Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of being Pro-ISIS. It is also Anti-Nuclear Power, Pro LGBT and its stance is Anti-Islamic in many respects.

It has been fairly steady in Turkey, not really getting anywhere UNTIL IslamicState (possibly) gets into the act, watch what happens next!

Now observe what happens next...

July 2014 ISIL vs Kurds (Kobani)

Halkların Demokratik Partisi (HDP) rallies on the back of ISIL and accusses Turkish Government to be supporting ISIL (or at least turning a blind eye) to the problem.

Sep-October 2014 Kurdish riots in Turkey:

This was building up in Turkey for a while with a flow of Migrants from Syria

2014 Kurdish riots in Turkey refer to massive violent protests by Kurds in Turkey in autumn 2014, as a spillover of the crisis in Kobanî. Massive pro-Kobanî demonstrations unfolded in Turkey and quickly turned violent between protesters and the Turkish police. Several military incidents between Turkish forces and PKK militants in south-eastern Turkey, resulting in several mortal casualties, contributed to the escalation. Protests then spread to various cities in Turkey. Protesters were met with tear gas and water cannons, and initially 12 people were killed. A total of 31 people were killed in subsequent rioting up to 14 October.

May 2015:

Halkların Demokratik Partisi (HDP) keeps on hammering about Turkish Government supporting ISIL  and their seats go up from 35 to 51!

October 2015 Peace Rally:

Peace Rally (Ankara) organised to make peace with Kurds gets bombed

Questions?

  1. You can clearly see a spike in their support whenever they are attacked, so why would Recep Tayyip Erdoğan or his party do that?
  2. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Turkish Nationalists are both Pro-Islam, again why would anyone who is Pro-Islam do such a dumb thing and keep spiking a party which has relatively little (support) in Turkey? Their support means eroding of support for Islam
  3. Turkey has no history of such electoral violence until ISIS got involved in the picture and then you repeatedly see this violence against Halkların Demokratik Partisi (HDP) or its allies and the flashpoint is always the Kurds!

it was very sad event in Ankara. Number of death has gone upto 86 and injured people went up to 186. No one is sure that who is responsible for the attack. We are eargerly waiting for who did it. İ heard IS but it can be wrong as other news does not give information about who did it. Agaim turkish goverment blocked Twiter

Twin bombs kill at least 20 in Turkish capital Ankara

ANKARA (Reuters) - Twin explosions outside the main train station in the Turkish capital Ankara killed at least 20 people on Saturday as hundreds gathered for a peace rally, in what government officials described as a terrorist attack.

A Reuters reporter saw at least 20 bodies covered by flags and banners, including those of the pro-Kurdish opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), with bloodstains and body parts scattered on the road.

Authorities were investigating claims the attacks were carried out by a suicide bomber, two government officials told Reuters. Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was due to hold an emergency meeting with the heads of the police and intelligence agencies and other senior officials, his office said.

Witnesses said the two explosions happened seconds apart shortly after 10:00 am (0700 GMT) as hundreds gathered for a planned "peace" march to protest against the conflict between Turkish security forces and Kurdish militants in the southeast.

Violence between the state and the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants has flared since July, when Turkey launched air strikes on militant camps in response to what it said were rising attacks on the security forces. Hundreds have since died.

Those involved in the peace march tended to the wounded lying on the ground, as hundreds of stunned people wandered around the streets. Bodies lay in two circles around 20 metres apart where the explosions had taken place.

The attacks come three weeks ahead of a parliamentary election in Turkey and at a time of multiple security threats, not only in the restive southeast but also from Islamic State militants in neighbouring Syria and home-grown leftist militants.

The NATO member has been in a heightened state of alert since starting a "synchronized war on terror" in July, including air strikes against Islamic State fighters in Syria and PKK bases in northern Iraq. It has also rounded up hundreds of suspected militants at home.

Designated a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, the PKK launched a separatist insurgency in 1984 in which more than 40,000 people have been killed.

The state launched peace talks with the PKK's jailed leader in 2012 and the latest in a series of ceasefires had been holding until the violence flared again in July.
