Also there are no straight guidelines in these sciences loads of things are done differently and disputed which is why in these type of threads a bewildered reader will be left dazed not knowing what to believe.
An example of the doctors come to mind; in Pakistan there many jali-certificate wali doctors sitting out there, when they give medication they send you out with 5-6 medicines knowing that at least one will cure you. So in reality they don't have a clue of your illness but just use trail and error.

Another important point raised by someone earlier; the "I don't take profit" phrase does not validate ones professionalism and sincerity. Although practised by the pious many people use it to kill two birds in one stone.
Firstly they know that you are bound to give some sort of gift most likely higher the amount they would have charged you and secondly they use it as PR, meaning people respect them more because of it.
The true Ulama in amal leave it up to the individual they give how much they want, that way the poor can get away with it and the rich usually give higher sums but even then it is up to them. In hikmat they usually charge a fixed sum.

Just to clarify that the guy last night charges £10 standard fee and makes no qualms about it; at all! That is the fee and you are told on the Phone. Only Ulama and Huffadh get free treatment.

He is not a Maulana
He is not Deobandi
(Peace TV) playing in the waiting Room or ARY etc
But he appeared to be a Barelwee

He just respects Ulama and Huffadh by giving free treatment.

I think I have written this on Sunniforum.

I used to work with an exceptional British Scientist (Phd) and him and his wife had a house in the country where they took care of stray and wounded dogs and cats. They had many.

He told me that they stumbled upon Homeopathy and they now treat all their dogs with homeopathy. Broken bones, infections and dogs remarkably healed better and faster with Homeopathic.

His argument with me was IF Homeopathic medicine was working as a Placebo effect then how can dogs display Placebo effect?
My response was that Dogs were responding to the Faith of the Master (owner), he then countered by saying that it’s the same Master using two different methods so how can the results be consistently better with Homeopathy?

Any responses?

Look at astrology, people used to follow the stars once upon a time for navigation, todat it's Google maps and satnav.

There's phoneys in every field, I used to be quite skeptical but I've had my own experience too and alhamdulilah it was a good positive one. Yes it is possible to check via pulse but that's the basic mastery for a hakeem, some can even diagnose by looking at you, a mates great grandfather was one and he was one of the best he says he could do this, his books still remain, very interesting indeed.

No it has nothing to do with Jinns, muakill, hamzaad, there is a genuine science out there and many of the old ulema were hakims, hakim tirmidhi ra etc

Whole thing sounds highly dubious to me....! True there were pious Hakeems who posessed certain abilities in the distant past.
But in the present day and age more likely to be psychological trickery or jaddoo.
