Salaam.

Threads in the Q/A section get locked way too quickly.

Many of the responses are just copy and paste jobs of fatwas from years ago, which is fair enough, but I think the questioner should be given the opportunity to ensure he/she has understood everything. There maybe something that may need questionning or clarifying etc.

Jazakallah. Generally if we feel it's answered it gets locked so it doesn't turn into discussions. But I agree with letting the thread started contribute towards the locking.

PS. The Q&A was actually meant to be for the new update but as the update might take months (due to limited time) it was added here prematurely due to its demand. However, the new update will have the option of marking a thread as "resolved" by the thread starter to have it locked at any time as resolved.

I do agree with you brother, but in all honesty it just feels like no one wants to do their homework before asking.

Majority of the answers are available in a multitude of sites.

Take a look at the questions and answers, all very common. So far all been answered by laypeople, especially me, unqualified! I get the answers in seconds if I try, since they are all already available.

How many questions in there do you think are difficult to answer?

So far there is only one pending, because it's a genuine question. Please don't think I'm saying that the rest are not genuine, they are Alhumdulillah, what I mean is that something that is difficult to find. If I wanted, I could present the question to a qualified Mufti, but I have chosen to see how how other members may help.

You will find ALL of them are and always will be. We aren't Scholars. We are members just like you.

Jazakallah Maulana, I typed up the reply and lost signal so my post was delayed.

Salaams brother, I agreed with you to a certain extent. Sometimes these answers are too elaborate and don't really address the question directly or it can be confusing.

I look forward to the feature brother Yasin mentioned.

Jazak'Allah brother. I look forward to that features, Insh'Allah.

I think users should feel more in control of their own threads or questions.

السلام عليكم akhii

Truth is how many people really know where to look ?

I would like to suggest a sticky thread be made in the fiqh section listing reliable websites where members can search their questions. Hopefully that should help.
