Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

First Request:

I am getting seriously alarmed at the Islamic understanding of our noble Sisters online (SF and now MS). It is clear that these Sisters are seeking Islamic opinions from people who have NO CLUE on how to advise them.

I Masha'Allah trusted Sister UmHasan on SF as she was a Scholar but SF is now gone.

MS has a policy of letting only Islamic Scholars answer question which is good and right but THEN there are no actual Scholars answering questions so these Sisters are obviously being advised by some Do-doos because they have no other venues to turn to.

MS should either:

  1. Bring Islamic Scholars to answer questions no matter how silly the queries may be
  2. OR Reverse this policy as it can't be implemented and it seems to be harming people rather then benefitting

Shura is requested to take a serious look at the picture, here.

A lot of these Sisters probably have no access to (local) Ulamah so Internet is their only way out and just because they are turned away from MS, doesn't mean that they don't access to others on email, whatsapp, facebook etc who are clueless individuals but given legitimacy by association with some Shaykh or whatever.

Second Request:

I will tell you later... :P

Jazakallahu Khayran

This is precisely why we give directions as to where they can find their answers.

We post this Rule:

Please post questions such as the ones posed in this topic to the Ulamaa. Or click here for a vast library on islamqa.org. Alternatively, you can get support locating available answers online in the Q&A Support section of this form here

Salam,

Plenty of access online nowadays to Ulamaa working under their own organisations.

[quote]OR Reverse this policy as it can't be implemented and it seems to be harming people rather then benefitting

The policy is to safeguard the members. It will not be reversed. Plenty of threads on the forum already addressing this issue and explaining so it won't be repeated here.

In addition, I would like to inform you that an alternative solution will be available on the new update for addressing Fiqh questions via the forum. At the moment however it isn't possible. The updates have already started in the background. Please be patient in the meantine. جزاك الله خيرا

Not a lot of good in a policy which can't be implemented. There is no point in giving options which don't exist.

But it is implemented which is why you started this thread right?

[quote]There is no point in giving options which don't exist.

There was no option. I typed, "It will not be reversed"

You misunderstand me, Maulana.

I mean the policy of directing question to the Ulamah can't be fulfilled because due to a huge queue and delay people can't get them answered.

  1. So the policy should be REVERSED
  2. OR kept (rightly so) but the options to direct people revaluated with genuine credible verified options and not just there are plenty of Ulamah who can answer sort of general response

Because the intent behind the policy is good and noble but practically people are being left in a lurch OR made to make choices on their own.

If there is a problem then put a workaround in place (with Ulamah) until a proper redirection could be implemented. Have a word with few Ulamah whom you trust and direct queries to them, if there are plenty of Ulamah then seeking an amicable agreements with some shouldn't be hard and if you can't reach it then what hope have the laymen got?

Oh ok. I thought it was in reply to what I typed.

I couldn't agree more. This is a huge issue and doesn't seem to be resolving. I've tried about 8 years and the truth of the matter is actually worse than it seems and I'm reluctant to expose it on a public forum.

Quote:
So the policy should be REVERSED

That's not possible as it'll open too many doors to Fasaad. Not everyone is level headed in Fiqh matters. A few existing threads is proof of this. Other forums is more proof of this.

As I mentioned, a solution similar to this is already drawn up and it'll be very beneficial inshaAllah. I just need to go through it with a few people (Ulamaa) before it's added.

So it's not exactly black and white but I think we're on the same book if not on the same page on this matter. There will be an addition soon inshaAllah.

Forget SF and what happened or didn't happen. In fact many worst things happened there and that's one of the reasons the forum was shut down so lets not kid overselves about the smug superior SF attitude (and I am not saying it out of spite as I know both groups) but I digress.

I just mentioned SF as a starting point.

Sister UmHasan is a good person and if we need to get her over here then lets contact her husband and convey our request but she is Masha'Allah an intelligent Muslimah and she probably already knows about MS.

Salaam everyone. This problem is not even worse, I've seen worst to the point a sister in Islam left the deen..... She registered in a forum [not gonna mention the name but not SF] and a male chauvinist member baselessly answered her questions related to women and Islam, i.e. saying women can be beaten and forced intercourse, raping slaves is halaal, etc. Some deeni issues can be very sensitive, but not everyone can convey it in the best meaning or the best knowledge.
