I advise you to use the "view posts since last visit" link( it's on the right hand side at the top)on the forum page when you log on.

This makes it easy for you to go through all the new posts no matter how many their are simply by clicking on the little page sign.

Then it wouldn't matter if the new posts don't show up on the home page.

Take heed from the poem and never quit,

Like a friend once advised me, you have to really look sometimes you might be missing out on the thing that makes life just that little bit easier.

there are less events posted than poems etc.

Also, each poem etc. deserves its own topic, if it's longer than three lines so people know just what they're about to look at by looking at the topic title.

i (and shaIy?) just think it makes it easier for eveyone to have the events on a onestopshop thread and aIso aII poems on one a onestopshop thread.

There is benefit in having all the poems on a single topic, however it could be argued that this would defeat the purpose of having a separate forum for poems and quotes.

Yes, the "view posts since last visit" is the best way to keep up-to-date with all recent posts and ensure that you don't miss anything. Clicking on the little page icon is also helpful, but often makes you miss other posts in the same forum, because it only take you to the very latest post in the respective forum.

Lemme explain: Sumtimes I look through the forum for e.g. an old poem I saw posted 6 months ago. Obviously it's gone on like, page 4 or something because it's old and so many poems are posted masha'Allah BUT, what makes it easier is that I just have to remember the title of the poem wheras if it was in one post along with so many other poems I'd give us scrolling up and down and left and right.

My persoanl opinion, let's let Admin decide coz he knows better.

The event thread was NOT meant to be the way it is.

It needs lots of clearing up.

As members we were suppose to only post events (not comments) and then they were to be deleted as soon as the events were done.

hence ideally there would only be a page or two in that topic at a time.

InshaAllah we (authorisers) will get round to clearing it up.

Continuing with a " poem's thread" well if people want to make a comment on a poem and new poems also have to be posted in the same thread, it would get all messy.

Like for example... this poem has moved way off topic.

The site would be cleaner and poems easier to find if they were posted individually.

Alhumdolillah we are quite lucky that many members do post poems and articles in one day that it does not do justice to the scrolling part on the homepage.

By merely going through home page you do miss out on new topics or poems.

What makes me laugh is the fact that the title of this topic is @Never quit' and none of us are quitting to explain. Good though, coz that's what'll make us all understand each other.

Every person has his or her own adjustments to things and I think majority of us find it better that each poem has its own post, which makes alot of sense.

Let me leave it at that. How about we use our time to post poems etc. isneatd of writing what's best and what's not? Admin will be back soon insha'Allah and he'll write what's best so let's:

Yep I think this topic needs to be split, also so anyone with a similiar suggestion/request etc. in future, can find the reasoning behind the way it's kept in the relevant section.

and i know people will knock me again for this but please can everyone (authorisers also) remember NOT to use :, :), :/, etc until sorted by admin.
