There is this guy who has a huge metal structure in his garden. It was there when he bought the house.

It's an ornament type of thing in the shape of a leaf.

He says its deep rooted into the ground and cannot pull it out or even bend it to break it out. It's buried in concrete (not soil as shown) it's not as thin as this image, it's a bit thick.

He likes it but says its too dangerous for his children. It's a shame for him because it's worth about £1000.

He has tried to set it on fire, tried to weaken it by throwing acid on it, tried to knock it down with a sledge hammer, tried to cut it, but it just doesn't budge.

Any suggestions on how he can remove it? Remember, it's in his garden so he can't tie it to his car or something and pull it with force.

Dig it out, it doesn't look too difficult to dig. Rent the tools and dig around it and then remove it. You can rent this:

Not available where he is. It was a thought that he was already given.

He has no idea how deep it is either. The previous owner said it was there before his time too.

Don't pull it with a car. It will not end well.

In Bradford we would just get a team of eastern Europeans to dig it out!

I suggested disintigrate it or something. Turn it to dust.

Is there anything like that.

Find the perimeter of the foundations. Then on one spot dig down to see how far down the foundation goes.

Armed with that knowledge he will be better informed and can then decide his next move.

There probably will be, but I doubt it would be better and more practical than just digging it out. It's not an alien artefact that is immune to standard human intervention.

That's precision my friend.

That's precisely what I'm talking about

I know it can be done.

That's why I'm asking if and how it can be done.

I could've sworn it was possible.

Seriously, any thoughts on it?

Well, dynamite could potentially do that. Not that I'm advising using it in his garden. :)

Kidding aside, I can't think of anyway to accomplish that without manual labor, or purchasing some serious acid. (Not something that is generally open to retail purchase.)

It's coming down to the use of some serious material, equipment and planning.

The problem is, I've seen what I'm talking about before.

I'll have to look into it this quickly. Can you imagine kids playing and getting hurt. If time permits and members can be more serious, then InshaAllah I'll get to the bottom of this today.

I've seen it man! I swear
