100 pixels x 100 pixels

The size can be anything from 1px width/height to 100px

You can use any photo editing software to resize it or an online photo resizer

i actually resized it on paint and tried again only to get another message:

The avatar's filesize must be between 0 and 6 KiB.

why do these things have to be so complicated!
