Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah

I was just wondering if its possible to have a sisters forum and seperate brothers forum within the main forum like on sunniforum. So users 'sisters' and 'brothers' can discuss certain matters amongst themselves. I feel this could possibly be a great way to make the site more interactve. This would mean enabling pm to the same gender only, so sisters can communicate amongst sisters etc...This would also keep the main forum to the point so unessesary things are not discussed in a mixed environment, and sisters would feel more comfortable asking certain questions..

U could only register 2 use the service after a certain number of posts on the main forum in order to confirm that for example a sister is indeed a sister vice versa..

I dont mind helping out in terms of moderating the sisters section if it did happen, any thoughts though on if it could happen?

Jazakallah khair

Wa Alaykum Salam,

Jazakillah for the suggestion and offer. May Allah reward the intention. Ameen

Although having segregated forums for discussions is a safe method of interaction, it is not always secure. Online is not the best place to have discussions which are deemed 'private'

Also, it's not easy to tell if a person is a brother or sister. A few people choose to keep it anonymous which makes it even harder to grant access when they request it. The 4 categories in Miscellaneous is mainly for sharing purposes. We usually feel that there is no need for any majour interactions. And keeping stict rules on interaction even if a user might know another user makes Muftisays probably one of the safest forums for all users of different ages and gender where nothing personal is permitted on the site.

What I can offer though which was suggested before is a private category for usergroups where registered members can have a private category in which they can add their own members to the group like a mailing list without mail. This can be handy for classes, lessons, tutorials and similar activities. Viewing and posting authority will be in the hands of the group moderator.

Everyone should feel free to ask.

Wassalam
