Here in india, the transport company quotes rates for transit of goods which covers its cost of transportation. The profit it earns is from the insurance it charges on the goods. Therefore, generally the goods transported are on carriers risk and not owners risk. Basically it is the norm here.

Please tell me if this insurance is haram ? Should i ask my carrier to have my goods on my risk and not on carrier's risk ?

I am not an Alim and I am not trying to answer this question, just want to understand the query.

Suppose I sent Cargo from Mumbai To Delhi, the transporter is responsible for its safe delivery and compensation (if lost), is my understanding correct?

How is it any different to Transit anywhere else in the world?

and therefore since the transport company is responsible it charges for the risk and is termed as insurance in its invoice. So whats the ruling ?
