Brother, my point is just to highlight, that the tie is useless. Even people frown to wear it. Its funny how it dangles, while you walk,
especially on a windy day.

The symbolic cloth is a bow tie, to be accurate.

Brother abu Mohammed, sent you a pm.

(My comments were in line with a post that no longer exists and that changes the whole picture.)

With regards to the link between sick people and playboy, then I see what is meant and that hadn't even crossed my mind. However, playboys emblem is the bunny wearing a bow tie. This doesn't make it haram at all.

When I looked into how ties could be linked, I found that some people saw that the neck tie points towards the male private parts and tries to attract the attention of the opposite gender.

Therefore, I find both reasons to be flawed and at the same time don't even wear the tie, nor encourage it.

For the west, the tie is a form of decoration and for the east, the yashmag, (Saudi scarf) is form of decoration now.

I don't wear the tie, but I do wear the middle eastern scarf in winter to cover my chest and neck from the cold weather!

A piece of clothing being useless and a piece of clothing being a sign of Christianity are 2 separate things; wouldn't you think?

Did you know that Albert Einstein considered socks to be "useless" and never wore socks in his life?

Do you mind telling me the use of this on your head? A person lives, works, breathes in airconditioned environment so tell me what this piece of dressing does?

Reminded me of following facts....sorry completely irrelevant to topic but couldn't resist sharing. Did you know...

Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton may have suffered from a type of autism, according to experts. Researchers at Cambridge and Oxford universities believe both scientists displayed signs of Asperger's Syndrome. Many people with Asperger's are often regarded as being eccentric.

You cover the head with a cap or a Turban...Why would you be clean shaved and then put a STUPID red scarf on your head with a tyre to hold it in place? :P

An act of reward

How?

This was invented by the British. Muadh has a brilliant post on it.

What if that is a baseball cap, helmet, etc, these wouldn't be considered the same as wearing a Topi, Turban, etc. I'm not saying that Maulana is wrong.

the red scarf was an invention which is now used by the Wahabi as their identity :(
