Assalamualikum brother. I was downloading the pdf files and there are three files that do not open.

Non specific taqleed to specific taqleed
172 usage of weak hadith
177 clenching ones fists

Please look into it as that thread is simply amazing and extremely helpful.

Jazak Allah Khair.

And regarding Dr Zakir Naik fiqh;

He says

"Wearing a long shirt (long kurta/ jubbah) is not a sunnah practice"

"He says with proofs from his research that the three piece suit (wore by Obama) is sunnah".

Recently I have heard from his follower "If Nabi would have been alive today, he would be wearing Obama type clothing" Astagfirullah.

if your visit here is to present Dr Zakir Naik and Ahle-hadeeth (gair muqallideen) Islam, sorry! there are no takers here.

I just wonder at your extreme hatred for GMs, clear from your old SF posts.
I don't mean to be disrespect but I feel it's high time to let you in a secret that your hatred made you being unfair towards them as u doubt them.
I too believe GMs make errors in fiqh, but no I'm certainly not exaggerating when I don't have such a high level of hatred as u have.
My own brother is from Ahle Hadith, I don't think as a Hanafi my love & respect for him makes me a hypocrite or reduces my ghairah. Sheikh Hasan Ali's says that we should bring excuses for Muslims (even from others sect) & be ccompassionate towards them & save our harshness for the kuffar.

You can even doubt the person who says he doesn't know about Ahle Hadith - Is that cos you believe lying is allowed in Ahle Hadith's fiqh? As per my knowledge taqiya is allowed in shia fiqh not in salafis.

Others may come here with purest heart to seek guidance, not to waste their precious time on you to spoil your Iman.

I sincerely advise you to stop doubting others intention & develop a soft spot for all Muslims in general for the sake of your own akhirah at least. Or otherwise kindly keep your doubts & hatred with yourself!

Sorry if it seems I'm having a go at you, as I'm not. Wassalam.

W-Salam,

That is a superb question and facing many of the Muslims worldwide.

In my humble and unqualified opinion we are putting the cart before the horse. (Initial) guidance and staying on the guided path comes from Allah (SWT) and not through our intelligence or ability to decipher books, articles, speeches or blogs.

First and foremost we should earnestly turn to Allah (SWT) and beg, beseech (and continue to do so) throughout our lives for guidance and then for us to be kept on guidance. This is inline with the message in the Qur’aan and noble Sunnah.

Then we should fundamentally and methodically study Islam uses classical sources which have been relied upon for hundreds of years by Muslims the world over. There are no disagreement on the validity and authenticity of these sources. I can of course advise what I know to be accurate in English, Urdu and (consequently Arabic).

  1. The simplest and most basic Tafseer of the Qur'aan which has stood the test of time is Jalalain (taught in most Islamic institues as a basic primer for hundreds of years). This has been brilliantly rendered into modern English as "Qur'aan Made Easy" by a South African Mufti (HA), easily available on Amazon, kindle, iphone or android
  2. Riyadus-Saliheen is a classical 2 volume Hadeeth work by a Master of Hadeeth; highly recommended and bedrock of narrations on virtues of actions for 800+ years!
  3. Ascent to Felicity: One of the most basic yet powerful book on Hanafi Fiqh which should guide a beginner on the dos and donts of their religion adequately

Alongside I would recommend you googling Shaykh Abu Yusuf Riyadhul-Haq (HA) and listening to any of his talks which interest you. Listen to anything or watch anything you like....

For spiritual matters I recommend that you listen to Shaykh (Dr) Husain Abdul-Sattar (HA), pick any topic you like...

The recommendations (above) are just mine but if you chose to follow it should give you very good basic grounding, Insha'Allah

Jazakallahu Khayran

Assalamualikum.

Its been a while since I have posted here. Special thanks to brother abu mohammed not just for the links but also to introduce me to brother Black Turban. I have been in touch with brother Black Turban through emails and find him to be somebody very helpful, supportive and with concern for the ummah, alhumdulillah. I don't know when he last posted here, but he has asked for duas so please do remember him and me in your duas.

Moving on... Growing up in UAE you do not realis the harsh realities of life. There is good clean running water, hardly ever does the electricity go off, and while there are poor people, poverty isn't so rampant and in your face as it is in Bangladesh. Very often I am asked by relatives if I am having fun in Bangladesh and to be honest its hard. Its hard to have your fill and then go out and notice the rampant poverty. But people over here are used to it. Maybe with time I will get desensitized to it too.

Talking about harsh realities, a daughter of a relative of mine ran away from her house and got married. She came back home after three weeks and is "happily married". The person she got married to, used to come to her house and provide tuition. Where were the mahrams and where is the purdah and where is the gheerah? Its heart breaking. The parents were crying initially but with time have accepted it and they will be doing some sort of a function in the next couple of weeks. I do not even know if Islamically these sort of marriages are allowed or not. May be someone here can shed light.

Bangladeshi families really need to stop providing their kids with mobiles and access to television. Bangladesh is even thinking of banning three Indian TV channels. But why leave it to the state and not to the head of the family? Its sad to see the whole family committing zina of the eyes together. And if you say anything then you are labelled old fashioned with a villagers mentality. Sigh... Glad tidings to the strangers indeed... May Allah guide us all.

The other day my father took me to a mazaar in Chittagong. Its named Amanat Shah Mazaar. I was surprised to see many Hindu women there too... See this is what I meant that Bangladesh opens you up to harsh realities that Dubai could never do. There was prayer area where I prayed two rakahs nafl first and asked Allah to keep me away from shirk and bidah. We then had the Asr prayer. There was no mic in the masjid and I was surprised that the azaan for Asr wasn't even heard. Like we had to guess and then pray the 4 rakahs sunnah of Asr. The iqamah was pretty loud though. After Asr I went to visit the room nearby where I think the grave of the saint was placed. The tomb was pretty high and there was a huge turban on one end [maybe signifying that there is where the head of the deceased was placed. There was a steel casing covering the grave and a lot of people were kissing the casing and even touching the casing [the way some people touch legs of elders to take aashiwad/blessing]. Some people were even throwing money inside the casing... People do weird stuff...

Oh weird stuff reminds me... one of my uncles recently went to Ajmer Sharif. He very proudly said that he performed tawaf there. Blew my mind. When my father told him it was wrong his response was, "Oh the khadim was there too and not everyone can do it. Only selected men and women can".... I do not know what to make of all this and whether to laugh or cry.

Wow for someone with zero knowledge of Islam I have written quite a bit. May Allah forgive me for any mistakes. Requesting duas.

P.S. -- A lot of good and bad is there in the online world. Alhumdulillah for the brothers and sisters using it to benefit the ummah. We have quite a few amazing people here and please keep trying to advice/guide us folks who are jaahils. Sunniforum first and Muftisays now have been very useful for a lot of people I am sure. May Allah guide us all and give us best of this dunya and the next. Jazak Allah khair.
