Wilfuly doing Biddah

Hazrat (RA) was a person of knowledge, immense Hikmah and Baseerat and may Allah (SWT) fill his grave with Noor and reward him with Jannatul-Firdaus (Ameen).

I assumed that he has consulted Shaf'ae Scholars on the issue and confirmed the position; rather then making an emotional statement because guidance cannot be bought through Bid'ah and misguidance.

If a freind says to bow down to an idol will you do that too?

So where do you draw the line as to what you would or would NOT do?

Based on the opinion of which Scholar? Which Madhab?
